Important mechanisms behind the strong myotrophic effects of testosterone were first uncovered in a population of high-level powerlifters who reported the use of testosterone (100–500 mg week−1) for a period of 9±3.3 years (Kadi et al., 1999; Kadi, 2000). Long-term administration of testosterone accentuates the degree of fibre hypertrophy in already well-trained powerlifters (Kadi et al., 1999; Kadi, 2000). Testosterone induces the hypertrophy of both type I and type II muscle fibres. Type II muscle fibres are the largest muscle fibres in powerlifters both in steroid users and non-users. However, there is evidence suggesting that the largest difference in muscle fibre size between steroid users and non-users is observed in slow type I muscle fibres (Kadi et al., 1999; Kadi, 2000; Eriksson et al., 2005). In the trapezius muscle of steroid users, the area of type I muscle fibres is 58% larger than in non-users, whereas the area of type II muscle fibres is 33% larger than in non-users (Kadi et al., 1999). The same tendency is observed in the vastus lateralis (Eriksson et al., 2005). Accordingly, it has been shown that type I muscle fibres are more sensitive to anabolic agents than type II muscle fibres (Hartgens et al., 1996).Subsequently, it has been shown that the administration of 300 and 600 mg testosterone induced an increase in the area of type I muscle fibres, whereas type II muscle fibres enlarge only after administration of 600 mg testosterone (Sinha-Hikim et al., 2002).

Very interesting, I'll have to read more of that when I finish work later. I know that you can't target specific types of fiber hypertrophy through different training styles, but I had never considered that anabolics could affect that ratio.

On it's own, it's a single study, but I do notice, whether placebo or not, my power (explosive strength), seems to get better quicker while on higher amounts of test. Obviously it's more gear means more gains and it could be many other factors also but since I'm competing in powerlifting I'll do what it takes to be the best I can be.

My first cycle I started at 500mg/wk and after around wk 10 it was bumped up to a little under 700mg a week.

the reason I like this study, is they actually tested AAS on people that was using their muscles and not a bunch of couch potatoes.

Exactly why it's more applicable to us. Even those pesky bodybuilders lol :p

But yea you make an excellent point, it's not a sedentary or sickly population they studied. They studied real lifters with years of experience under their belts.

Edit* if only more studies on the topic and with similar participants were conducted we'd have a much better understanding of shit for ourselves.
 
So I've been thinking today about dieting for 3 weeks to quickly lose another 10 pounds of fat. Not sure if I wanna do it yet, I'm on the fence about it. If I did I would do 3000 cals per day and probably 2 hours of cardio a day for 3 weeks. Thoughts guys? I'd probably be the leanest I've ever been if I lost 10 lbs of fat right now.
 
So i just got back from one of the worst gym experiences of my life. I don't know how or why but the soreness and pain in my glute is worse today than it's been any day since I started last Monday. I started warming up for cleans like I always do and it was just too painful to keep going once the weights started getting relatively heavy, same with squats when I tried those. I just couldn't get ANY explosiveness, power of strength for anything lower body related because of the pain. So I just said fuck it and made it an unplanned light recovery workout for some upper body stuff since I couldn't even do anything lower body. I'm not even gonna bother posting what I did, it was stupid.

Maybe I slept on it wrong or something, no idea. I'm praying it's a little better tomorrow. Even driving is being made difficult because of this.

Is it normal to get pip like this from something like 500 mg cyp, since it was my first time injecting in that particular muscle? Not being able to do my cleans and squats is devestating. This was the first workout I wasn't able to do something cause of it.

I thought about that earlier and looking back I wish I had taken some before I hit the gym. Missing out on a good workout sucks. I'll do that next time if this ever happens again but I'd rather try to fix the problem than just mask it.


EDIT: and by the way huck I'm taking your advice and scratching the idea of doing a short cut, I don't wanna waste 3 weeks of potential muscle building during what will possibly be the best cycle of my life.

The best cycles of your life will be ones that include tren but idk if you'll run it bc it makes endurance and breathing a pain in the ass.

What kind of pain was it and where specifically? Is it in your injection area? Did you try foam rolling or a lacrosse ball?

the best cycles will have all of the above in it. Tren, Deca, EQ, Mast or Primo, and lastly Test ;)

Never ran EQ mast or primo yet but Next time I order raws I plan on getting EQ or bold Cyp, mast e and maybe primo if it won't sent me to the poor house. Test is a given lol. I also want to get some halo, have I mentioned I'm a whore for halo (I fucking love halo), dbol and drol. I have a shopping list of goodies lol

Halo is the only oral I'm willing to try, the other orals are not worth it to me. Primo will put you in the poor house or me anyway :( EQ, Mast, Deca are staples and Tren will be again one of these days. ;)

Have you tried halo before? A friend from another forum gave me some for my meet back in March. It had me wanting to squat in between bp my bench attempts. I went back to my coach after my second and third bench attempts and asked him in all seriousness if I could keep squatting in the mono while waiting for the next lift. He had to slap me in the face to get me back to reality. It will make you zoned on the weights like nothing else I've ever tried.

I went back to my coach after my second and third bench attempts and asked him in all seriousness if I could keep squatting in the mono while waiting for the next lift. He had to slap me in the face to get me back to reality. It will make you zoned on the weights like nothing else I've ever tried.

I've been thinking about that lately actually, if I'll ever use tren. If I did, it would have to be in the the earliest stages of the offseason when I'm not focused on fitness, and also likely only if I need to dramatically improve my body composition.

It's not quite a sharp pain, it almost feels like I injured the muscle though, but I know it isn't injured. Yes it seems to be the whole area around the injection site, about the size of my hand, that hurts. It seems to be a little better this morning. And no I didn't foam roll or lax ball lol, call me a bitch but there's no way I would have been able to do that. And don't think you guys are hijacking the thread, it's a good conversation. I'll probably end up using halo eventually too, I think it would be great to take leading up to games.


On an unrelated note, are nightsweats supposed to be a side effect of test? I just woke up with my pillow and the part of my blanket closest to my head pretty wet, and I can feel dried sweat on my skin. I NEVER sweat in my sleep and if anything my house was cooler last night than normal, so I feel like it has something to do with the test.

Going off limited info, I'd think it's related to your pin. The first few pins in any virgin muscle will hurt like hell sometimes and are the worst PIP wise. I thinks it's just normal pip but keep an eye on it.

I know what you mean about not being able to lax ball areas. It does hurt like a bitch but you can make it easier by not putting all your weight on it at first. Also you can just lay on the ball or roller for a few min and once the "pain" goes down a bit then start rolling the area.

Tren for me isn't just about body comp. it adds a good deal of strength, aggression, focus, and ability to handle an increase workload. I was able to do my prowler work last year on tren although it was difficult. I still managed to get through it. If you want it had enough you can do it. Bronkaid helps with the aerobic endurance and breathing although I didn't use it much.

Halo you'd love. Strength aggression, focus, reduction in water weight without the cardiovascular effects.

Thanks a lot, I can't wait for the fall season. I have sky high expectations for myself so it's gonna be exciting.
 
500mg test cyp....never ran it that concentrated but could you no cut it 50% with oil and just pin a double portion? Possible it may be crystallizing within the muscle? Other experienced guys may correct me on this theory
