The REAL deiffernce between cheap and expensive protein powder ???

Those aren't sold by VS

The Ultimate Nutrition I buy from here
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/un/sensation.html

Yea, I just noticed.
That natural one, looked pretty good.

I gotta go to VS to get mine though,
cause I have too much savings there.

I like to look around when I
go shopping...
Only thing I would buy online is gear.

Well - I've ordered the protein from Bodybuilding.com twice already and it was delivered within 3 days both times so I have no complaints

I already have 20% off and my sister
is going to start getting her stuff there,
since GNC is a ripoff ..
She will let me get the coupons..
The cards are in my name ;)

Just until I start working then
I will let her get some of the coupons.. or not :D

What you think of ALLMAX?

I like Isopure myself, it has glutamine in it also. I order it from advantage supplements, GNC charges over twice as much!

A product called "New Whey" is also a nice concentrated whey isolate product.

It's much more palatable than Isopure, based on the 1-2 flavors I've tried.

It's available in 28 and 42 grams of protein each for about $3 a pop. Buy in a quantity like a case and the price is reduced. You can buy it at BB.com or on occasion Wallmart!. All of the flavored are worth a try EXCEPT "blueberry" it's horrible!

It's cheapest at Wall-Mart

They only have packages of 6 whenever
I go there, but they are $13.something cents for 6

1) why not customize your own blend?
True Nutrition - Whey Protein Powders

2) There's always goat milk protein

3) Whey protein isolate from grass fed milk with nothing else or vegan protein powders
Buy Protein Powder Sale - ZNaturalFoods.com

I prefer a powder with little or no additives

I want to start on Raw Organic Milk, but
it's $10/gallon here

What about powdered Milk??
For the calories and protein not just protein.

I need cheap.. I have ramen noodles for now,
but I wanna do Milk... ramen noodles with protein
added... chicken, tuna.. not much tuna

I like Milk before bed, so yeah, what's
a good Milk... and why do I keep capitalizing
the M in Milk

BigSha, i also can't see difference between cheap and expensive powder. Flaoldman, i also have problems with lactose, but usually i don't have such problems with powder... I am a new guy in supplements theme... Usually i took care of my body passively and inconsistently, but i am prepared to make it a part of my life now. And i searched for the cheap protein (for example) on the internet and usually try to test different producers each time. Don't know if price determines the quality of the proteins (powder)... I am from Lithuania and we don't have many options buying salmon :D which is high in proteins and acids. It is expensive and i think - worthless. But I search for the cheap protein on the internet and usually try to test different producers, as i said. But sometimes i found quite cheap. For example £43.99 for 5 lbs. And however, real food complete in minerals is more expensive than powder. Whites of eggs.... but, how many of them you need to eat to get enough amount per day? A lot. I would be grateful if some of you would share online shops links which is REALLY cheap. Because i really don't see difference between cheap and expensive production.

I also agree that the cost benefit just simply is not worth it for the isolate and hydrolyzed powders. I believe whey in general (whether it be a concentrate or isolate) still has a high biological value and utilization in the body. For relativity purposes, Whey Concentrate has a biological value of 104, an egg has a has a biological value of 100, and fish has a biological value of approximately 83.

Food obviously trumps powder, but in regards to the difference between cheap and expensive protein supplements, I believe it is a marketing scheme to charge the consumer more (i.e. Optimum Hydro Whey is 57 Dollars for 38 servings on BB.com). For something that isn't going to make noteworthy change in your physique (unless concentrates cause you gastrointestinal discomfort), I don't see the added benefit.

My personal favorite in regards to price and nutrient profile is Optimum Gold Standard. I don't feel bloated after consuming it and it has decent profile, although its cholesterol content is a little high. It does have whey isolate, concentrate, and peptides (isolates of amino acids derived from longer whey protein molecules). For 71 servings at 58 Dollars on Bodybuilding.com, it is a pretty good option that won't hurt the wallet too badly. I hope this was helpful!

Musclemeds Carnivor seems to keep me from having digestive issues. I feel that the processing of the whey proteins even some isolates are a bit harsh if you have a milk or lactose sensitivity. Whole foods are always best of course. Sardines and ground beef are easy to prepare and eat. Can of sardines has as much or more protein than a serving of whey isolate as well as omegas and DHA

I like hydrobuilder for it mixability
Taste and i feel better on it no bloating and in less sore, faster recovery. I also love ON BCAA's. I think BB's pedalling that muscle pharm combat shit. It sucks!!! I only have a shake when I'm in desperate need. I just get most if not all of my protein from food.
-----preferred-----
1- hydrobuilder or gold
2- Dynamatize
3- iso-pure

I still prefer truenutrition the best!
No doubt that i have enjoyed true nutrition. But after shippinh and handling its quite a bit more expensive then the others. Not to mention its gritty consistency. I've tried a variety of the mixes and one of my own there. It just doesn't mix well.

Go with Dymatize Elite bro. Its actually FDA approved, and it was the best one I used, no indigestion or bloating. Not the 12 hr dymatize, not the other fancy ones, just the cheap old Dymatize Elite

Used the same for years, it too was the best one! Great taste too!

This is what I'm currently using as well. There was a study done a little while back on cheap protein powders showing them to be mostly amino acids rather than protein I think. That scared me off of the cheap stuff myself.

Has anyone tried ON whey? It's the Optimum Nutrition 100% whey, I believe their middle product of the 3 they offer. I recently received 2 5 lbs of them and was wondering what everyone's opinions are on it. Good, bad, shit?
