Intermittent fasting

ive noticed a few people here say they are doing IF.. its something I've been very interested in giving a crack

has anyone tried bulking whilst IF'ing?? i imagine it would be difficult to hit massive calories in a 6-8 hour window.

are you hungry all the time??

i see a lot of people disagreeing with IF whilst on a cycle, that its a waste of time IF'ing whilst on gear, that you will lose gains etc.

real keen to learn from others who use this

Read lean gains. All of these different approaches to eating hit a brickwall but IF is working good for me in recomping.I am still making gains in muscle while loosing fat over an amount of time building up from all of the days fasted in the Am.The proverbial recomp.Speaking of on and off cycle I burned out after 6 weeks doing IF natty versus now doing it assisted 3 months and have not hit a wall.Would not do it year round myself.

I'm way too neurotic about eating when I'm trying to gain mass. As it is I usually eat about every 3 hours, and if 4 hours slip by somehow I start to get anxiety and freak out until I get some protein. I can't imagine going for more than 6 hours without eating, even on a cut. Regardless of any possible physical benefits of IF, I imagine it would turn me into a nervous wreck lol.

Been doing it on a natural recomp regimen. Start around 4am with a whey and water shake, then fasted until about 330- 4 pm. Generally eat a pre workout meal, then lift 45m later. And start smashing food after that up to about 2k plus calories. Honestly, you don't have to count calories, but to make sure you pull enough macros for the day. The shortened feed duration, plus the stomach shrinkage makes it damn near impossible not to cut.

Depending on how hard I run the deficit, I'll either hold scale weight while my clothes get bigger, or cut very rapidly. EC stack runs very well with this, especially cycled on and off two weeks at a time for major appetite suppression. I found I could run a crash diet for two weeks on EC, dropping about 5lbs a week, then come off the ec, go on a two day refeed, and eat at a moderate recomp deficit. You'll look a little flat at the end of the crash, but you blow right back up as soon as you refeed, and the fat stays off. However, this was for recomp. You're already looking pretty good there Chuck, so I don't know if you would want to go crash dieting too hard. . .

The best part is it's bearable. Once you get your body accustomed to it, it does not care about being in deficit. It's like your body knows it's going to pig out and feel good later, so it doesn't bitch at you when you're fasting it.

I like it. I will be experimenting with it when I swing the second half of this cycle back into cut/recomp, possibly with lots of chemical extras. I seem to be building a stash of cutting drugs that I never had an interest in, due to people throwing in extras or botching orders, lol. I'll definitely let you all know how it goes.

i actually really enjoy IF, the first feed after the fast is such a huge meal and i never thought id be able to eat that much in one sitting, but its a breeze. can't wait to see results after a month or 2

Yeah man. End of the day, I think cutting (and gaining, and everything in general really) is just about finding what works for you. IF works well for me. It fits my schedule and body, and I am content being in a deficit doing it. I actually really like not worrying about my work lunch breaks. I'm a cook by trade, and the last thing I want to do is make another plate of that played out food for myself on my breaks. Leaves me more time to sit by myself and plot my dumbass co-worker's destructions. And fuck around on here, lol.

Fuck the dumb shit. Do what works.

EDIT: btw, love the Bronson avatar. Great flick.
