Melly Mel's Log From Hell

Thanks for validating exactly how I was thinking at the time.

I'm convinced that with those face pulls staying strict with the execution of the movement and the full range of motion is what it's all about. The weight is of little importance because you can increase the weight during the movement, so to speak, by slowing the pace down. The real work seems to be done in the last 20% of the movement. If you short the range of motion or lean back away from it you're completely missing the true beneficial part of the movement. Keep me informed as to how it's working for you. I'm really interested as to whether this is effective or not. If it is it could really be a game changer for some people.
So is it advisable to have the pulley at the level of your head for facepulls? If the pulley's at the top I tend to lean back to be able to pull the cable towards me. If at the bottom it kills my shoulders as I then be pulling up.

I understood that the pulley is to be set as close to the top of the chest as possible. I'm taking that as the top of the pulley where the cable comes out is at the base of the neck. Does that make sense?

Yes that makes sense. There's a couple of pulley machines at my gym with the pulley fixed at the top so there's the problem. I'll use the adjustable pulley ones and adjust it as you suggested.

Thanks for the tip.

200lbs. Mutha Fucka's!!!!!!

I just left the gym. Couldn't wait to put this up. This is my first time breaking the 200lb. barrier. I feel so good right now. I still have 6 weeks to go on cycle. I'm shooting for 210. That was my goal but tonight I will enjoy that my hard work is paying off. I hit a few PR's these last two weeks and now my BW PR. Thank you guys for your motivation and inspiration and a few kick's in the ass. You know who you are.

Thank you Brutus. Thank you sooooo much. I am blessed to have the support of some very very good men on Meso. I am reaching heights I've never reached before and I've been at this a long time. The variable is Meso. It's no coincidence that I join this board, you badger me into doing a log, I get tons of support and advice, and I start hitting PR's. Support is just as important as diet, training, and a good cycle. I convinced of this. I already know what you are going to say to this next statement but I will say it anyway and I just want you to say thank you. I never understood how important the eating part of this was. I always thought training was 90% of it. You made me realize that it's mostly diet and you pushed pushed pushed me into it. Thank you for that and thank you for taking sincere interest.

You did all of it man. You certainly have my support- but don't shortchange yourself for a second... all that hard work was you brother. If you want to thank me- keep it up! And keep listening to your body. The desire to push past normal growth and risk injury for ego is huge in all of us- you inspire me to listen to what my body tells me and to live to fight another day.
