I've been on this site reading and trying to learn for the last few months. I want to make sure I do all of this right. A little background on myself, I'm 34 years old 5'9 and 170lbs. I stayed in shape most all of my life through sports. In 2009 I had a car wreck and broke my shoulder, also fractured my L1 vertebrea. My dr told me to rest it for a week then go back to work. But it didn't work like he said, I spent the next few years relying on pain meds to make it through the day. Long story short my son which was 3 at the time asked my wife why daddy wouldn't play with him very much and guys it broke me. Made my mind up I had a problem with pills,I have never admitted this to anybody, but I want to completely honest on here. I started easing back into the gym doing low weight and trying to strengthen by back and other muscle I lost in tha 3 years. Really started training serious in 2013. I feel like a diffrent person today but still have problems with my back, but a fuck lot more manageable Found a great pain management dr that has helped me tremendously. Helping me taper off the Meds now. I try to train 5 days week but some days it's a hurried workout trying to help out with the kids and working 12hr graveyards. I have been considering trying the AAS route for a number of reasons, I have considered just a 10 week test only, when/if that time comes I want to be knowledgeable. I'm here to listen to the pro's. The reason I picked this site to start on is yall try to help each other and give honest uncensored advice. Sorry for the long wind story. Thanks

Welcome to Meso brother!!

Good intro. I've had problems with pills (pain & benzos), clean 24-1/2 months...life is much better without 'em. You've made the right choice, good luck.

Thanks everyone for the welcome. Glad to officially be part of this community now. good to know I can come here and won't be judged for past fuck ups! I look forward to talking with you guys in the future. Thanks again

Great intro post!

What are your reasons, if I might ask? What would you like to get from AAS that you believe they can deliver for you?
I honestly want to gain size and strength. I've always been on the small side. In the past 2 years I've put on almost 30lbs just from eating and getting serious with working out. I have held the weight without much problem but seems harder to get the cut look. I thought bout doing a cycle 6-7 years ago and decided to wait and see what I could do on my own first

Today is a new day! Remember that and you will be golden. Also remember that your past is just that, your past! You are taking the necessary steps to a full recovery and we commend for that.

Good luck in your journey and welcome to our community!

170 is not tiny for 5'9" but it is not large either. I think you would have a LOT easier time achieving the cut look with an additional 20+ pounds on LBM on your frame. The closer you get to 200 pound sthe better you will look and the easier any cut will be.

The counter would be that going *down* in weight on a cut from 170 might make you look more cut but honestly even a 10 pound loss of 100% fat is going to make you look significantly smaller overall and the cuts simply won't have as much visible impact.

Just my opinion though.

Thanks for the advice. My goal has been to get to 185. The best way I found is to set some small goals and try to have them in a certain amount of time. Im currently the biggest I've ever been So this is all new to me. Overall I feel great but do seem to get wore down more that normal but I just figured it's from more weight and time of year. Planning on getting blood work done just to see what My numbers are on everything. I really appreciate the help and I will gladly take all the advice I can get
