I want to see violence when I look at a defender's gameplay and drive.
Ohio state guys crushed it.

I'm liking these "leaner" LBs that possess serious threats with just sheer athleticism. I really would have liked to see what Jaylon Smith could have done. I mean 6'2 223lbs aint "little", but I take interest in comparing my size to what the top athletes in the sport are putting up. There seems to be a current trend of guys like this doing great things in the league like Von and Kuechly that are slightly more agile than some of the thicker horsecollar body types we saw in Dexter Coakley + R.Lewis. I don't know if that makes sense, but it seems like the style of play has favored these guys recently. Where we regularly saw guys play Dline in college then drop back into LB roles now it seems like some of the biggest playmakers this year at MLB/OLB look like they could be CBs??
 
Watching the last group of DB's run the 40 now. These kids are slow, avg around 4.6. Fastest so far 4.47 (OSU guy) couple of 4.5 the rest are awful. I know they feel like shit. Back to speed training for their pro day.

Yeah, the game has become too fast for those with little agility. I'm like you, I like the violence of the game, all about contact! Guys like Kuechly, Von, Ware (made a living at being athletic in his younger days), and Chancellor are all guys that have a tremendous skill set with God giving agility. To be their size and have loose hips, change of direction, and can lay the wood is rare and a joy to watch.

This is why I don't like Henry (RB Alabama), his hips are too tight as he runs upright. Not a lot of agility. Some argue that A. Peterson running style is similar but A.P style is awkward, powerful and extremely physical! Besides, A.P doesn't get hit, he delivers the blow.

Henry is a stud, and he has been amazing to watch in college....but if runs exactly the same in the NFL it won't have the same results against the big boys. The potential is there, but he will have to adjust and learn to let things develop, let the lanes appear. The days of being the strongest + fastest athlete on the field and outrunning his blockers are over if he wants to be successful moving forward I think. Either that or just hit the weightroom and be a J.Stewart, but it's hard to manhandle tacklers @240lbs when you are 6'3 compared to JStew @ 5'10" or Lynch @ 5'11". Like you said he's too tall and upright, the powerful runners of the NFL are fighting for yards on their elbows.

Edit: I like Henry, but he's nowhere close to elusive as AP. AP makes guy miss, changes directions on a dime and can deliver the blow and slip tackles. Totally different I don't like that comparison at all

I like Stewart; he's a beast. He was a beast at Oregon too. He's so solid man. Great fit for you're panthers!

Yeah I agree, the comparison between AP and Henry is a bad one for sure.

I actually think Drake could turn out to do some good things, he was always overshadowed beneath Henry but for some reason I just always liked him. I could see being a big playmaker on a special teams squad....gotta stay healthy though.

That's an impressive highlight reel you have right there. I completely forgot about that kid. He looks great in that footage. He will make someone's squad for sure! I love that acceleration in the middle footage after he breaks free of the pile.

"This fine sends a clear message that there is no leeway when it comes the NFL's new firearms policy—if players have a sidearm in their pants while on the field of play, said pistol must be tucked into the front, back, or sides of said pants," a statement from the commissioner's office read in part. "Once again, the rule is clear: Players can carry up to five guns onto the field at any one time, but only if they are properly carried in holsters underneath their jerseys, in the aforementioned portions of their pants, or in their sock." Goodell also cautioned Jones to be mindful of rule 14b of the on-field uniform code, which states that one may shoot an opposing quarterback once and only once as long as the throwing arm is not targeted.

I tune in to sportscenter hoping to catch some clips of my 2nd wife meisha tate winning her title (ya had a crush on her for a while) only to find wall to wall smothering coverage of what we all already knew, PEYTON MANNING RETIRES. Is it just me or does any notice the UFC doesn't get no respect from ESPN?

Right after the fights there was some in depth coverage. But youre right, not much. And I had never really looked at Tate until today, she could get it.

Also glad Peytons hanging it up. It was getting sad. Id hate to see him getting clobbered on the Rams or some other team for a year.

There was never any question he was retiring. He was far too classy to announce it at the superbowl. Let the team enjoy the win. Steal the spotlight later. Peyton is GOAT
 
@Morefyah kinda feel for ya man.Last season was the big assemble of the team. This season they begin the big disassemble :confused:
