Hey silly good time! Lmao! Glad to be here, question, any body got an opinion? I always did a 4 or six day day split, but at my age some days I feel flat like overtraining but I don't go heavy, medium weight, too much now? If I train less it dosent feel like it's enough.Well hey there, vinny! Welcom to meso, we're all about liftin weights and having a silly good time while we do it! Ain't that right gang???

Thank you young buck! Lol! I'm trying to navigate, shit I'm in the 21st century! Lmfao!Have to let one of our senior members answer that, I'm still just a young guy so overtraining isn't a problem I encounter. I'm sure someone will be along before too long that relate and give some solid advice, good luck, guy!

Lol.! No kiddin! Wonder what I'd be like if I didn't lift my whole life tho!I like seeing guys post who are older than me. Not much though.
You are correct. I feel it. Takes longer to warm up![]()

I trained med. to heavy for years, never really for power, for strength and size. I have been going med to light for a long time, 12 to 15 reps. Just want to keep the muscle,I get good rest. But when I get that shot, the pain lessens to a large degree, but I still go light, I'm not 25 ! Lol! My wife looked up anti aging? She said maybe hgh? I don't know bout that. Then chances are that's the case.
Older gents simply can't tolerate the JOINT strain of lifting weights like these younger mates
That's not to suggest lifting heavy is out per say, but if the soreness is focal and overlies an articulation such as the elbow, knees, MID-lumbar region rather than within a muscle belly like quads, forearm etc, it's best to lighten up bc healing "damaged" articular surfaces requires MUCH longer, like weeks rather than several days, the latter being the case for muscle soreness.
I do the same, cept 4 day split. I kept a lot of size.My father (62) still crushes the weights 6 days a week, but when he hit about 55, he had to back off the heavy lifts and perform lighter sets with shorter rest periods and more time under tension. Worked miracles for him, and he looks bigger then he did when he was lifting heavy. Hope I am still lifting at your age! Cheers.
You would be a lot worse off, my friend. I saw that you mentioned that you are like 58 in another post? Wow! Honestly, I think it's impressive as hell that you're still actually lifting weights. I see a lot of fellas your age that are overweight,or that just have problems moving around in general, let alone getting out and moving weight, so kudos to you.
i like that! Mates! My buddy's from Australia , he sez that! Lmfao!! Awesome. Then chances are that's the case.
