Time for a change

Hey Meso, i've been following this forum for a while and i have to say this place is a fountain of knowledge and experience. Anyways, long story short, I've been training for some years naturally with good results only for the first year, mostly because of my incorrect diet and especially a crippling insomnia that has made my recovery times unbearable. I am mostly looking at testosterone as a way to reduce recovery times and eliminate those shitty sleeping pills that i'm completely bound to in order to sleep.
Anyways, stats are:
Age: 22
Height: 5"4
Weight: 155
BF: 17%

Welcome. I too have insomnia. Test helped out quite a bit, but unless you have a brain injury, try to find the underlying cause and fix it before self medicating.

Thanks for the reply. No brain damage here, and i already know the cause of my insomnia pretty well. I plan to use test as a crutch while my body learns how to sleep without benzos, if some extra gains come they are just a bonus for me.

Have you ever tried 5 Htp, valerian root, or phenylalanine?

Things that boost your dopamine production heart regulate your sleep circadian rhythm.... basically your body's ability to recognize day time is time to be awake, and night time is time to go to sleep.

What benzos are you using?

I was previously a heavy abuser of benzos like 14 months ago and I'll tell you in my experience, when I got off the benzos and was able to reset my mindset, reset my focus, and clear my body of drugs, I was naturally able to put on an easy 15lbs of muscle while gettin leaner. I would try to get off the use of the benzos first and see if you can't gain a little more without those drugs in your system, seems to make a difference for a lot of people.

Also, I don't think test will necessarily make your sleeping better. Some people get more insomnia or night sweats from it as well.

Edit: leanandcuisine also already mentioned the natural alternatives I was gonna bring up, those work well for many people, if not one then try a combo of a few. Like 5htp with melatonin, or GAB, etc.

Also, welcome to Meso

Thanks for the input, tried most of them, they are effective but not enough for me. They do make me sleepy, but my problem is kind of a phobia of not sleeping, which in turn keeps me awake even when i'm really tired/sleepy. If i know i have benzos the phobia is reduced and i can sleep better, so it's mostly a mental problem. I think if someone gave me fake pills and i was convinced they were real, i could sleep just fine. So my aim is to show my body that not sleeping that much isn't too bad by aiding my recovery with test, and hopefully eliminating this phobia

Oh and at the moment i'm using 1mg clonazepam before going to bed + 15mg mirtazapine (stronger than any benzo and less addictive, but really unpleasant)

Mirtazapine is actually an atypical antidepressant with noradrenergic and some seretonergic activity. It actually acts on your 5-HT receptors as well as some other things, but shouldn't really be effecting your sleep. How long have you been on the clonazepam? Dosage is pretty average I would say

You are right about mirtazapine, but it is also One of the strongest sedating antihistamines (kinda like a super benadryl). I have been on varying doses of many benzos for two years, it all started with some phenibut, best sleep ever and best prosocial effect but too easy to get addicted to.
