Whey protein gives me the shits...

So I can't break down whey. I guess its the whey. I'm lactose intolerant, and no matter what brand of powder I try, its squirt city.

I'm using a pea powder based protein now. I seem to tolerate it OK. But its only 21g per 2 large scoops. Are there any brands that might be more easily digested?

Jym protein is a blend of whey, casein, and egg protein and I've seen several claims that people lactose intolerant have had 0 issues with it. It's by far the best tasting protein I've had which is only a few but still. Kind of pricey tho at $55 for 4 lbs.

Check out truenutrition. You can custom blend anything under the sun, and I believe they have some that are geared toward lactose intolerance. A better quality whey may even help.

I ordered 6 different flavors recently and am sold on it. Best part is you can blend and try 1lb at a time and find what you like.

I've had non stomach issues with ON whey isolate and the ready to drink individually package protein that are both sold at Costco and usplabs modernprotein.

(Vanilla modernprotein + Justin's Maple Almond Butter + milk is so delicious)

Try beef protein
I would try carnivore for yourself and see how you like it, but the line that is MusclePharm x Arnold makes one called iron mass that is actually a really good one. I thought the chocolate tastes good enough, and it is 40g beef protein with good healthy fats and a high quality carb blend, it's about 585 calories I believe. Unfortunately I don't think they make one that is just beef protein minus the carbs and fats so that one will really only be good if youre not cutting.

I think beef protein just mixes funny kind of like casein. What I did was I would shake it up for about a minute, then let it sit for a couple minutes, then reshake it and it seemed to mix a bit better after it had time to sit.

LOL! I have the same problem and that's even with protein bars!

Jesus, 585 cal is WAY too much. That's a 1/6 of my daily cal intake.

Try Truenutrition.com they have a bunch of non whey proteins. They'll even do a custom blend of your choosing. It's a good source all the proteins a made with all natural ingredients and they taste good

Like many members said, truenutrition.com is something you should definitely try. You can customize your own blend of proteins so that's pretty cool. Other than that, I would say carnivor or RCSS king beef. I can't stomach beef protein that well, but I heard they're pretty popular.

Well if you can't tolerate the whey then they got those vegan superfood protein powders. They cost a bit more money than regular whey protein powders but they'll be easy to digest and come with a decent amount of protein in exchange for shit taste lol.

A great time to try or stock up at truenutrition. 10% off everything with promo code APRILFOOLS.

No, it's not a joke. I just placed an order and got the discount.

For the lactose intolerance, they have their cold-filtered whey isolate that is almost fat and lactose free.

I know I sound like a trunutrition rep, but this is by far the best stuff I've ever had.

Thanks to @Eman for suggesting them in another thread. I'm sold.

Over the years I've went from being whey intolerant to being able to stomach it but I think it was due to undiagnosed gastro issues.

During the years I couldn't stomach it I chose ON Egg protein powder. ON Egg tasted good, was effective but those fucking farts would melt dried paint, I'm finding the same issues now that I'm using straight egg whites as well.

iso-rice protein con. its great and has high protein and no-low carb and just about the same amino profile as whey. it does has a slight starchy taste to it but a heck of alot better than pea protein. i hated that one, it was soo thick and gritty, evne if i added extra water, so nasty. maybe even a combo of each you may like. but i prefer the rice protein powder.

i used them for many years. only reason i may not on my next bulk order is because its WAY too expensive for shipping to canada, but in USA its cheap shipping now. i think like 8$ flat i saw postd someplace or in an email i got recently. good selection they got.
you can make you own blends too. i made a couple. mostly using my whey50%/45%iso-rice/%5soy blend. not too bad.
