possible drug screen fail need ideas

but wouldn't doing all this jeopardise future job opportunities?

It can although it isn't supposed to. You've got to do what you've got to do though man. Most employers don't tell other employers why someone was terminated either, again it's a lawsuit waiting to happen if it costs you a job believe it or not. Law always favors the employees.

It's unlikely to go to a lawsuit and I don't know what can come of it to be honest if it did, I've only given you my best advice and your best chance to beat the system IMO, might be overkill but if you're not kidding about being homeless then fuck overkill and do what needs done. It's only pot not heroin so a lot of employers will roll there eyes right off the bat. Do not go threatening to sue them or anything lol... Just tell them you've got a problem and your being treated for it, name the facility you've got the appointment at.

What happens at these outpatient facilities? If this happens and the hammer comes down, will I basically just have to quote what you've told me to say, go to one appointment and let them know at the facility that I feel I'm okay, and bring proof to my employer that I went there, I'm fine and I'll stay clean?

I would stick with it for a while if it were me. Your employer may require you to provide documentation that you've been going. The facility will let you know how they normally do things... Tell them your not currently using but having trouble breaking the habit for good. After like 12 sessions you should be fine to say I'm all better!!
Get busted again and you're going to need some lube for the fucking you'll endure. I don't know where you work though.. Some employers laugh at this and are only doing the drug testing for insurance benefits.

Healthcare industry... and I've been looking around, I don't have the moneyto pay for it. That shit is expensive I have high deductible insurance. I kinda wanna make one and make it for a later date maybe?

In the mean time I think I'm gonna look for another job. This could tide me over from being terminated while I search for another. If they do fire me I'll get rich apparently

The only reason I think sooner is better is because being currently in treatment is best for your cause. Up to you on how you go about things... It's not a perfect world.

Good luck lol... I've just given advice from what I know from a business perspective. That's not to say unfair things dont happen. People get fired for using medical marijuana in Colorado with a prescription and actually need the shit...

Being proactive is always better than being reactive.

Well, I'll do as you've outlined. Thank you for the advice, I hope you're around in the near future if I have a question, if the hammer comes down

I'll be around bro, feel free to reach out if you think I can help. I've pretty much mentioned everything I can think of to help you out as I am completely against drug testing outside of government jobs, especially weed.

In the end, it is tough to say what will happen really but I think you will have the best chances if you go with what I've mentioned. Hope everything goes right man.

BTW, a lot of employers test quarterly and sounds like your employer gets testing done pretty quickly in a quarter lol so you probably could plan ahead in the future but.... Lol.

@Spooby everything @Eman is saying is solid and true. I'm in a union, I had drug & alcohol issues. My employer backed me because I was honest and asked for help. But another employee with us was also struggling with alcohol. The employer had concerns and proof. They gave that person a chance to come clean. He didn't and lied. 3 months later he was terminated.

Say you took a vacation to Colorado or somewhere else it's legal.

From there it's up to your employer. Employer might want to have a sit down with you and subject you to another or series of tests like a probation.

But to get whacked for smoking once would suck.

There is no way in hell second hand smoke can raise your levels enough to fail a LC/MS test.

I think he's referring to being on vacation and partaking in the green goodness in a place it's legal.

Which an employer would chuckle at directly prior to firing you lol... Even an employer in Colorado!

I totally agree with you though doc, second hand smoke wouldn't do it. If it did, that would be one hell of a hotbox.

@Eman what if I explained it's because of my dehydration issues and that all the various medications I've been on never worked and marijuana does, if instead of an outpatient rehab center, I make an appointment with a counseling center with a psych? Would that work?

But you don't have a script for medical marijuana

I'd love to tell you sure that'll work but fact of the matter is we are talking about a schedule 1 drug that according to the DEA, and thus the federal government, has no medical benefits and is more dangerous than a drug such as fentanyl and other similar prescription drugs ( schedule 2 ) which are killing people at a rate you can measure by the fucking minute. Unless you are willing to bet your job that you have an extremely open minded employer that is willing to look past your weed use - I suggest your story is that you're struggling with addiction and you are currently seeking help.

Don't like it? Vote progressive. Legalization at the federal level is really the only way that argument holds water IMO. Just a side note, Trump will set progression back in this country.

Doubtful. Outpatient rehab or some kind of treatment facility is the best way. If you can find a psych that specializes in addiction then that may be sufficient though. You can even tell them what is really going on I would think due to hippa laws.

The underlying point is you can't have your pot and smoke it too in this situation... <-- see what I did there lol
