Kevin levrone comeback

The kind of guys who know this info about bodybuilders, (us) , know that it's mostly about genetics and drugs when ur competing at that level anyways, not what supplement brands they use. Yes the training and diet is crucial at that point but all the Olympia level guys have that to a tee.

No doubt - I guess the argument is that it's hard for the industry to sell supplements when the public see's the best man basically demonstrating it's all about the genetics. We know it's all about genetics - casual observers and regular people not so much. I just don't see how someone like that would ever be made the ambassador for the sport - call it politics, but there's too much $ in keeping the myth that downplays genetics alive.

Very true.

Except levrone has not and will not ever win the olympia so it's more like tim tebow ( idk if this joke will land with you being a kiwi and all, not sure how big american football is in nz)

A better comparison is the early 90s Buffalo Bills. Do everything but win the Super Bowl.
Or a great like Ron Santo: hall of fame career with no rings

I actually anticipated for Kevin's comeback since 2011. But it's kind of like the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight (about damn time, but kind of too late). He seems to be making a good gain from it though, but obviously he has to bring up his leg game if he really stand on the O stage.

I have slowly became a fan of kevin. I really would love to see him top 3. Really show them how it's done.

I think that if he can bring 90% of his best package to the stage he could make history as #1.

I am just praying daily he doesnt suffer an injury and that he can usher in a new old-school direction to the sport

Always loved Kevin, and got to meet him at the UK show many years ago. Seems like a OK if odd dude who went straight to the bar after winning the show.

My heart wants him to be competitive, but my head says no. I hope I am wrong but a last minute injury (possibly flex's ninjas come after him) and he has to pull out on the day seems a possibility.

I actually considered getting tickets for the O just to see him, but I booked my holiday at the same time.

I'd love to see him come in at his age and actually (legitimately) make the top 5 BUT I just can't see it happening. He only had so much time and he's up against guys that have been at it for years in a row. I just don't think he can be truly competitive given the time frame. Just too much ground to make up.

He is going to place high. He is bringing people back to the audience that walked away from bodybuilding following after the late 90's. One thing is for sure, he will be a fan favorite this time around for sure
I agree DD! I believe the IFBB desperately wants the physiques of the 80's and 90's to make a comeback. The refrigerator look of the IFBB guys today is not desirable which means not marketable to the masses. The IFBB wants a classic physique like Kevin's and will reward him accordingly if he shows up as even a shadow of his former glory! The days of the mass monster with the massive mid section and hernia must come to an end. There are some exceptions of course but they haven't been rewarded because they can't show up dialed in. Guys back in the 90's came shredded. What's the cause of all the mid section problems today. A guy will have shredded glutes and no ab definition! What causes this? It looks awful!

I disagree, I think people want freaks for the super heavy weights.... And with that comes gut distention. Now, classic physique is cool and all, I think it'll bring a lot to the IFBB.

The cause of the gut is two fold, it's GH->IGF-1 and insulin.

I agree that there is definitely an element that wants to see freaks, myself included. I never realized just how freaky big these guys until I stood next to a few of them at the Arnold a few eyes ago. It was an eye opener! Very impressive! I still think there is room for the classic physique though. Why not create a Mr O division for the mass monsters and for the aesthetic physique? I would be fine with the mass freaks if they actually had a waistline without the seperated abs and hernias. They have to stop encouraging the distended look.

They will have the classic physique at the Olympia. Problem is, with all these new classes, going to watch BB'ing is long and boring as fuck.

When a BB gets the distended midsection... Is there any way to ever get it back? Are they just beat at that point or can they tweak things and correct it?

Ive heard it comes from intestines growing on high levels of GH. I would think if you came down it would go away. I have an intestinal disease that gives me the same look and when I come off the meds I go back to normal (except a few stretch marks)
