Orlando mass shooters wife says he used steroids

Had more - or any - of those party goers been armed that night
There was a cop working security, guess he got shot first.
I'd like to see the country move towards a limit on high capacity magazines. Limiting a semi auto fire arm to 10 rounds is no more unconstitutional than banning full autos IMO.

I'm not sure what side of the control debate has more numbers, we'll see I guess.

I am not an American.
One thing I've always found odd is that nearly every time someone mentions a constitutional right, they are talking about an amendment.
So they inherently acknowledge that the constitution can change.

Why can't it change again to ban gun ownership?

I think it could happen, but not any time soon. Even most democrats like being able to own guns.... we just support more gun control.

I saw on the news this morning that Trump suggested that anyone on the no-fly list should be on the no- buy list and he received backlash from the NRA and it's supporters.
The FBI's no fly list is too restrictive and may prevent someone who is entitled by the 2nd amendment to buy a gun from making a purchase.

Look, the first ten add-ons (amendments) were "added" so that the original Constitution could even be ratified.

In a manner of speaking, you could say that the 11th Amendments is the first amendment - as it's the first that went through the amendment process.

And about banning guns.... stay in Europe if you like to live like a sheep.

The people who purchase guns legally in the U.S. Aren't the ones committing crimes. Guess what- the people who want to commit forearm related crimes are still going to get their hands on a gun. If guns were banned you would see way more trafficking from Mexico and way more cartel violence. I believe that banning guns outright would actually increase the amount of violent crimes committed.

The only thing banning guns altogether does is make it so a law abiding citizen is unable to defend himself if needed.

I have been thinking for ages now that nightclubs were the ideal target for Daesh. Drinking, music, cavorting... And many, many people in a small venue.

I think sports events will be next.

That's probably me on a fucking list now.

I was listening to someone on the radio. Ex guy who sought out terrorist in the US. he said they caught some kid that was planning on shooting up a big and busy Christian church. That right there seems like it would be right up islams alley.

Had more - or any - of those party goers been armed that night, the only life taken may have just been Mateen's.
I'm not anti-gun by any means, but I hear this a lot and it doesn't seem to make much sense to me. Not everyone is Jack Bauer, not everyone knows how to react to such a situation properly. People panic, people make mistakes, and not everyone that owns a gun is necessarily a good shot. If everyone has a gun and starts shooting, even in retaliation, then it'd likely incite more panic. We're talking about a club where there were a lot of people in a relatively small area, and likely intoxicated to various extents, and you somehow think that one or a few being armed would've stopped him? If it would have I bet he still would have killed probably around the same amount of people I think, especially since it was a surprise attack

"May" is the operative word that you seem to have missed when you quoted me.

You'd be surprised what people are capable of when their lives are in immediate danger. Sure, some may fold (there's that word "may" again) where others, even those who aren't Jack Bauer, may have been able to control their fear long enough to make a well-placed shot.

The alternative, i.e. EVERYONE being disarmed, clearly didn't do anybody any good. Killers don't give a shit about signs or gun laws. They only serve to keep innocent people from defending themselves.

I think most Americans grasp that concept just fine.

What I don't think many anti-gun people grasp is that a psycho fuck like this guy is going to find a way to murder people if it's what he's truly set his mind to do. Whether it's guns, explosives, or whatever else he can get his hands on.

I'm not sure if you're an American, but the right to own guns is a constitutional right here. I personally don't blame the guns for the actions of a terrorist like this guy. In fact, I blame anti-gun measures for ensuring that he had plenty of time to carry out his plans. Had more - or any - of those party goers been armed that night, the only life taken may have just been Mateen's.
I couldn't agree more. Look at fucking Chicago, a gun free Zone... but look at the violence and how many deaths from guns. Did you know that in the US 5x more people are killed with knives than and kind of gun... so you know. And the ar 15 doesn't stand for assault rifle. It stands for aerolite rifle

Imagine if he walked into the club drew his gun and everyone else in the club drew their guns. He would have at minimum 49 guns pointed at him if everyone had a gun. Now tell me, how many people would he have actually killed? He would've been shot probably hundreds of times. I say fuck it, arm everyone, everyone has a gun. Who's going to walk into a public place your shoot people when everyone has guns. How many shooting game do you hear about in gun stores? That's right none.

There are also no shootings in places with no guns.
Really? Are you fucking kidding me. There was a college shot up just a little bit ago. Student shot his professor then himself for failing him. That was a gun free area, and a GUN FREE SCHOOL. Did that stop the shooter Obviously not. What a stupid comment.

The thing that amazes me is how and why none of these shitbags have been blown away by a citizen? Obviously dependant on carrying laws in that state. But isn't Flordia a state were you can walk around and pack heat ?

49 people wouldn't need to return fire. He would have never entered a place with intent knowing 49-100 people could likely be armed. Killers like this are pussies and will never enter an area knowing someone, anyone, could return fire. There's a reason you never see shootings in areas people are allowed to defend themselves.

Most places in the US allow you to open carry, and with training and permits to concealed carry.
