Cant Grow on Clean Diet

Dont know what is up, but cant gain on clean diet. 5 weeks , ate well balanced protein and carb diet plan for muscle. Muscles was flat, didnt not gain but just a couple pounds. So I go to a sub par dirty bulk, just adding an extra 1000 sweet calories a day and muscles get full and size shows in just one week. Abs have more definition, more vascular, and gained a couple pounds quick. What is up with this ? The better I eat the less my body reacts to getting bigger. Also I dont get any leaner on a strict clean diet. What am I doing wrong to have an opposite effect ? Yes I taking gear, so shouldnt that make a clean diet much better. What is odd, I show more definition ? Any help on this

You just needed more calories to grow dude. You weren't hitting a surplus amount. Doesn't matter what you eat really as long as your hitting your protein goal. If you start getting fat back off a bit.

It takes a shit ton of healthy food to bulk, most healthy meals only consist of 500-750 calories. You would need 6+ full meals to gain weight depending on your TDEE.

Eating clean sucks, I currently eat 2600 cals (45/30/25) and sometimes have a hard time completing it because I eat same shit everyday.

But its well worth it, I feel better, leaner and my face looks much more aesthetic.

Quick question whats your macro break down? Carb/prote/fat and cals daily.

Also I call bullshit on looking leaner after just one week of adding 1k dirty cals. You probably look fuller and probably has more to do with the fat content in this "1k dirty cals".

Carbs make you look fuller bc of the water and glycogen stored from them not fats

This is honestly the least intelligent post I have ever read in my time here.

Thank you!

That is one hell of an accomplishment from the shit I see posted on these boards. Maybe I should have told him to eat more shitty food instead. Please enlighten me sir, what would you recommend? I want to learn from the most intelligent man here on this forum.

For starters, a healthy or well balanced meal can include any amount of calories.

I believe I seen it mentioned but the problem wouldn't necessarily be "clean" or "dirty" foods. The problem is simply not enough calories to put you in a calorie surplus. If you ate that extra 1000 calories in any types of food you'll still grow.

Agreed. Definition is key.

You don't say?!?

Op is clearly not eating in a surplus when eating healthy food. He either needs more calories per meal or more meals, we all know this thanks to the first law of thermodynamics. I clearly stated that "most" healthy meals consist of a set range of calories. I know, you came here to argue semantics, I get it, you are the doc after all. It is rather silly of you to reply to me when others are telling him to eat whatever as long as you get your calories in. Where is your nutrient, vitamins and macros argument for them?

Now we are getting somewhere though, please go on. Teach me and the op more, I'm so glad I have you intelligent men here to help me.

Please explain more about this "set range". I'm pretty sure there's a substantial difference between 2oz of chicken vs 2lb of chicken even though they're the same "healthy" food. The fact is, the others telling him to get more calories in are giving him the best advice if he wants to grow.
