Cant Grow on Clean Diet

You don't say?!?

Op is clearly not eating in a surplus when eating healthy food. He either needs more calories per meal or more meals, we all know this thanks to the first law of thermodynamics. I clearly stated that "most" healthy meals consist of a set range of calories. I know, you came here to argue semantics, I get it, you are the doc after all. It is rather silly of you to reply to me when others are telling him to eat whatever as long as you get your calories in. Where is your nutrient, vitamins and macros argument for them?

Now we are getting somewhere though, please go on. Teach me and the op more, I'm so glad I have you intelligent men here to help me.

apparently I had to say bc you didn't get it...

It's not semantics when you're just plain fuckimg wrong lol. Anyway, I don't need nutrient vitamins and macro arguments for OP since he is bulking and you'd have to be an idiot, much like yourself, to be nutrient deficient on a bulk. Either that or just eat the same few foods only but a decent multi can help, fill in the gaps anyway. Truth is, I eat whatever I want also and have never been healthier or happier with my diet but thanks for your concern.

Now this first lesson in nutrition is on the house but you'll have to pay for future ones.

Regards,
The Intelligent Man

Dont know what is up, but cant gain on clean diet. 5 weeks , ate well balanced protein and carb diet plan for muscle. Muscles was flat, didnt not gain but just a couple pounds. So I go to a sub par dirty bulk, just adding an extra 1000 sweet calories a day and muscles get full and size shows in just one week. Abs have more definition, more vascular, and gained a couple pounds quick. What is up with this ? The better I eat the less my body reacts to getting bigger. Also I dont get any leaner on a strict clean diet. What am I doing wrong to have an opposite effect ? Yes I taking gear, so shouldnt that make a clean diet much better. What is odd, I show more definition ? Any help on this
Im diabetic but theres nothing that compares to post workout slin and 18 oz steaks along potatoes;) eat up brah! If i can gain on 200test right now eating 159g carbs a day before my workout and then gateraed with creatine intra then post workout you eat all in sight

Well my experience is that I always bulk quicker whenever I'm eating whatever the fuck I want to. one agreeing with what most everyone has said because I am obviously consuming a calorie surplus. Fat is also highly anabolic and considering many "dirty foods" do contain alot of fat, I'm guessing that's why It seems I always gain better eating whatever I want. I have noticed eating bojangles for breakfast before the gym gives me added strength, compared to fucking oatmeal and eggs I don't feel as strong.

I started at 156 and 170 now. Cant get past 170. Protein intake runs between 180 - 220 per day. Carbs ? Calories ? But I stay away from fatty foods. No cheese burgers, bacon, pizza, foods in that nature. I have put some around my mid section but can still see my abs, not the best but can still see them. What can I eat to get past this plateau ? I do have a snack cake about 3 times a day to add extra calories and some carbs. Should I just go back to eating all foods, or what should I change ? Been at 170 for 3 weeks now and looking to get 185 next goal. Then maybe 200, and then cut down. Need help on this. Also on TRT but but a little higher than prescribed if that changes anything.

You need to learn about calorie in calorie out.

First figure out your TDEE. Then increase by 500 cals and wait a week. See if you gained weight. If not add another 250-500 cals on top of that TDEE.

It really is that simple.

You need calories. I don't know why you'd avoid burgers, pizza, and bacon when you're having trouble gaining weight.

I dont want the fat content. wouldnt the fat content on those foods be bad when it comes to cutting down ?

You don't want the fat content but you're not gaining weight when you want to. If you just don't want dietary fat than increase your carbs but there's nothing really wrong with going higher in fats.

Big part of your problem right here. You appear to be assuming you're eating enough but if you don't know how many calories or carbs then you really don't know what your intake is. Like everyone else said, you need to eat more it's practically that simple. You should also try accurately tracking intake tho. Track everything you eat for awhile and then you and everyone here won't be guessing on your calorie intake.

Once you get used to tracking you can start figuring out what works for you and adjust when needed. Download MyFitnessPal or something similiar and put in the effort.

Still not eating enough. Eat more.

Eating clean sucks, I currently eat 2600 cals (45/30/25) and sometimes have a hard time completing it because I eat same shit everyday.

But its well worth it, I feel better, leaner and my face looks much more aesthetic.

Quick question whats your macro break down? Carb/prote/fat and cals daily.

Also I call bullshit on looking leaner after just one week of adding 1k dirty cals. You probably look fuller and probably has more to do with the fat content in this "1k dirty cals".
