Bench Press

Fuck those are some crazy numbers for natty
I'm hitting my first cycle in a couple weeks but I flat bench 270x5, incline 225x5 and thought I was strong  Never bulked above 15% bf but so there is that.
Hopefully at the peak of my cycle will be able to do 315 for reps
Dumbbells at my gym stop at 65lb and then they have 1 pair of 75's and 90's which don't even have a spot on the rack and just lay on the ground so I never even use dumbbells anymore unless I'm doing chest flyes or some shit :D
But the benefit of being in a bitch gym like mine is half of the members are girls and I'm one of the biggest dudes in there so it inflates my already inflated ego.....can't imagine what its gonna be like on cycle

6 months ago injured my rotator hitting 405 for 3. Been trying hard to get it back but everytime I go heavy I fuck myself for a couple weeks. Wish I could go back and only do 2 reps. The dude I was lifting with was one of those motivational spotters. Kept yelling you got it. Fuck, I was driving the bar all left and right till it went up but I'm paying big in the long run...

I always wondered how football players trained for the bench press at the combine. Do they always just lift 225 and go for max reps or is there something else to it?

Its all about periodizing properly. If youve injured yourself have to check the ego at the door. Start with high reps with low weight (hypertrophy) for solid tempo. 2.0.1 tempo for example. Do that for 3-4 weeks then move into strent, then max strength, then power then into sport specific training. What I did was after my workouts 2-3x a week id hit bench at 135 for 15 reps then hit 225 for 3 sets of amrap. Worked like a charm. Even after my shoulder injury im back to 3sets x 20 for 225 bench reps. Slow and steady. Bottom line is you need to make a program and stick with it. Even if you think its stupid just tough out the 2-4 weeks and move on to the fun stuff after

Absolutely true about checking your ego at the door if your injured. Tore a pec a few years ago went from pressing in the mid four's to the bar. But the way back is to gain it slow not to reinjure your self by training to hard to fast.

Its so tough and humbling isnt it. You feel like such a pussy lol. Im currently doing a hypertrophy phase. Today was shoulder day. Tempo was 2.2.2 for 4 exerceises. Repes were 20,18,16,14 with 90s rest between. Shoulder pressing 30lb dbs was tough. 10lb lateral raises even tougher. And then the 7.5lb rear bent over delt raises almost killed me. Final set I did standing front plate raises for 5 sets of 20 with a 45lb plate keeping abs tight. For such light weight I hurt so bad after

If your going to power lift injuries are part of it. Hurt my hip switching from conventional to sumo deadlift. I get am mri and get the disc and reports myself read it and it say torn labrum. I go see aa ortho he says the labrum is no big deal but you have a stress fracture in the neck of you r femur. Crutches for six weeks. Fuck me this sucks. Spent the last two days doing all the seated exercises for back and then Bi's and tri's.

I used a slingshot to build my bench. Works to good... Strength went up faster than tendons and joints could keep up. Checking ego is huge. If you are pushing slow controlled reps with excellent form though you would think you're all good. It takes an injury to find your limitations sometimes. You could just lift lighter than you physically can but I'm whole heartedly against that. The guys that do that are the guys that I see day in and day out looking exactly the same with little to no gains... And they like penis!

Lol I'm sure you carry a gallon of water with you at all times and have your beats on to. Us gym rats are the man you wish you were. Wearing rags and repping 405 for 3x5. Training with a purpose. If you don't have the right tools you will never hit your potential. If you think color coordinated clothes is how you get big and get "bitches" you've got problems. But good luck with repping that 315. I'm also assuming your gym has no chalk.

Different goals, I train purely for aesthetics and to look good, it dosent bother me that my legs aren't massive for example because I don't want that look (can already see all of you shaking your head).
I know the clothes won't help me get big lol, but Iv had dudes come up and ask me where Iv gotten my tanks, joggers, shoes from and can see girls mirin in the mirror from across the gym. You won't get that attention with rags.
And they do help you get bitches, atleast here in Aus that's the way it works, girls wear lulu lemon $150 pants and don't want a homeless looking guy approaching them...

No chalk :D

Hah maybe, but I'm the dude y'all serious gym rats probably hate. Cologne, colour coordinated clothes, and brands like gymshark.
Train to look good and look good to train, never know which bish is watching
My gaydar is going off big time! Make sure you keep your estrogen in check, might find yourself catchin anal swallowing loads.... Lmfao!

Onto the original topic. Hit 380 a couple days ago. 400+ soon.

Onto the topic of the gym clothes and such. You both can have both. I'd like to think j have a mixture of both. And @Americanada just because you "see" girls "mirin" (dumbest slang term ever by the way) doesn't necessarily mean they are looking at you cause they find you attractive...
You can have the girls, I'll take the women.

How many reps you hit 380 for? And what type of training you doing to get to 400?

Bench is my thing. Always has been so I love the topic of heavy bench lifting?

And agreed on the women vs girls. Mind you a young slut every now and then is fun. Just not sustainable
