I think Roger rabbit is giving you good advice. He has more knowledge than most people on here and is a solid guy. I've always made the most gains (both strength and mass) when doing pyramids and finishing with drop sets. I personally like to end a major compound movement with multiple sets of 3-5 after a pyramid or 1-2 drop sets. Time under tension builds muscle.
