Boston's going to be devastated after their run is over. It has been an unbelievable ride and we want more of it, trust me. It's just that at some point things will change and all I can pray for is we don't fall into disarray like back in the Schaefer/Sullivan stadium days

Theres alot that went in to NE dominance over the Brady/Belichick years. Alot of very good play, alot of very good coaching, in some instances a whole lot of good fortune or luck, in some instances a fumble being ruled a forward pass( tuck rule), spying on other teams, deflating footballs(which i agree is silly but nonetheless against NFL rules), an unbelievably weak division. Lets face it the division NE is in and how those teams have played over the past 17+ yrs is terrible. Always allowing NE to be in the playoffs. When the mediocre jets are your biggest divisional rival you know some thing is wrong. Not taking anything away cuz the Patriots still gotta beat all the best teams to get to all those super bowls but their weak division helped tremendously for all these years.

It would take a tremendous amount of circumstance for any other team/coach&QB combo to best what the Patriots have done ever again.

Yeah man, agreed across all fronts. Luck, skill and shitty officiating all contributed.

Maybe even a little 'gamesmanship' in the mix as well :D

Everybody always picks on the division but other divisions have been just as bad or worse. The Bears suck, the Vikings have sucked until recently as well as Detroit who went 0-16 in 2008. These teams just recently got better. The Raiders and Chiefs were garbage too. The division that Atlanta was in sucked for most of those 17yrs as well until recently. The AFC East does well against opponents from other divisions.

Bears have been in a superbowl as recently as 2007. Vikings won the NFC north last year. Have been threatening for years. Lions are the weak ones but last 2-3 have been very good. Atlantas division has every team in that division appearing in the SB since the new millennium. I think your a lil skewed here. Nothing in the AFC east remotely ressembles anything i just mentioned. It is an easy division
