Suicide

You guys think juice makes you more inclined to commit suicide? Two close buddies of mine who i know juice, one blasts and cruise for sure killed themselves this month. Its been tough to wrap my head around cause they seemed happy and had pride in their bodys, makes no sense to me. It has me wondering you know if aas played a part somehow.

Sorry to hear about your friend.
Did you say the one that blasts and cruises is the one that did it?
I feel great now that I blast and cruise.
Though I had some real lows when I was still cycling and running PCT"s.
Being shut down for weeks sometimes months and running clomid and nolva on top of that. Definitely made me feel suicidal at times.
Also with each cycle recovery got more and more difficult! I'm glad those days are done.

You obviously didn't know them very well fella.

And to that end LOOK AROUND bc the number of folk using PEDs as "treatment" for psychosocial ailments, mood disorders in particular is truly astonishing, with the end result being much less than favorable IME.

Consequently, although I'm not aware of any scientific evidence AAS increase the rate of suicide per se, the use of PEDs by folk with psychological problems is NOT a wise decision IMO.

Sorry to hear about your buddies.
I think gear may make you more emotionally impulsive. But I'd not go so far to say it's the catalist for suicide.

If anything, I'd think gear would make someone less likely to commit suicide. Who wouldn't wanna live life alpha and strong af?

I'm sorry to hear about your buddies man, suicide is always a difficult tragedy. To me, it seems more strange/tragic. I'm not sure how to describe it, but I guess I have just always thought more about the family and friends left behind. When someone dies in a car accident, we are sad, sure. But at the same time, understanding that those things happen in life helps us grieve and move forward. It seems like we get through it easier.

Suicide, that's totally different. I have always thought it was much more sad and devastating to family and friends, I guess because you realize that someone you love decided that their life was so awful, they didn't want to live anymore. I couldn't imagine the feeling that the only way out of the situation, the only way to overcome your troubles, is taking your own life. I can't wrap my head around that.

As far as AAS being a factor, I'm with @Dr JIM in the fact that there was almost certainly preexisting psychological conditions, and while AAS may have not been the trigger, it certainly doesn't help to be taking them in an already unbalanced emotional state. They definitely will put you on an emotional rollercoaster sometimes, especially if used incorrectly, so when you think of being really low, remember, that's YOUR low. Now what if your low was someone else's high? What if the worst you have ever felt, the most depressed feeling you have ever been through, was the closest thing they had to joy in their life?

What would their low be like? We couldn't imagine. So to say AAS "caused" it is probably a stretch, and certainly never likely to be proven (although might take the blame in the media, as it has before) but I think we can all agree, based on our own use, that using AAS is definitely something you have to be mentally prepared and stable for.

I'm basically saying that I think gear would make someone less likely to want to commit suicide given the quality of life benefits and "euphoria" it provides.

For a person who has stability and knows how to handle tough times, yes.

But like @Eman was saying, it's the ones that take steroids as a way to boost their confidence that have issues. They have a social issue or something and they think "maybe more people will like me" "I'll be more confident if I had the body I dream of" so on and so forth. They are the ones who get their hormones all out of wack and become a danger to themselves.

Valid point, I guess not everyone who gets into this comes in with the right mindset. Sad

The WRONG mindset is soooo prevalent on PED forums it's become the norm IME.

Once again LOOK around on you'll be surprised how many MM are using PEDs for all the wrong reasons and it starts with a simple question really --- WHY are "you" wanting to run AAS.

And it's troubling MOST Noobs fail to mention or decline to provide a direct answer once prompted is telling IME.

When I first joined Meso years ago I believed pretty much everyone's primary objective for running PEDs was to INCREASE in LBM ----- right ----- WRONG!

Fact is those folk are in the MINORITY IME.

A brief list of why the MAJORITY of forum members, are using PEDS
- suppressed libido
- a desire to lose weight
- psychological disorders (from A to Z) !!!
- recovery from addictive substances
- peer pressure
- etc, etc, etc

WHATS SAD IMO, exclusive of those with legitimate Low T, (something VERY FEW 20ish year olds have) next to none of these complaints can be effectively treated with PEDS!

The point, I've often wondered if "we" are helping more than hurting by offering "advice" in the absence of knowing WHY someone is, or wants to, run AAS.

Jim

Hard to say, I think being suicidal is a sickness that goes far beyond just gear influencing a persons decision to off themselves. There was probably an underlying emotional issue and those emotions could have been escalated from using gear or coming off it. Sorry to hear
