Fuck V8s - when it comes to sound, you can't beat a V12.

Here's a poor man's Zonda :

Get an SL600 and a set of headers!
That does sound cool:oops:
TBH i wouldnt even know how to maintain a mercedes. Since i do it myself i would think i would be forced to the dealer for alot of that foreign engineering to be fixed.

Reminds me of those older BMWs. When the tires needed changing you had to replace the rims AND tires. They came as one piece.
Imagine.That.
Deep pockets for no reason

Actually, Mercedes aren't that bad, although with 12 cans a lot of parts get a big multiplier vs an engine with half as many cylinders. MB has more longevity and higher production volumes than BMW when it comes to high-end cars and engines.

I found a few v12's CL for around 14k searching just now

CL55 have the M113K engine. Supercharged 500hp 5.5L. Bulletproof engine, responds like a motorcycle, instant power.

Only real weakness with the CL is the suspension. All 4 corners will need replacement eventually. If the car has had that done, you're good. If not, it's about $2,500 per corner...

Superb car.

Sure hope thats if some body does it for you...parts and free labor(me) is ALWAYS substantially cheaper. Infact most parts for any repair are nearly insiginifact in the total repair costs. Plus i enjoy my craftmanship and the challenge. Pride of ownership

Well, the car has air suspension all around. It rides great, zero comparison to a US car.

Arnott makes great replacement parts - I have used Arnott on my cars.

I think there's ride height adjustments etc that are done via a PC at the end of the exercise so not so DIY friendly. Unless you have a buddy who can do the diagnostics and tweaks once you have replaced the air bellows etc.

here's a life lesson I just learned that I thought I'd share.

never combine laxatives and habanero hot sauce.

that reminds me of some unfortunate days in Asia... the laxative was more "natural" - from a food cart - and those Thai peppers are lovely - at least going in...
