off topic, but we have lots of mitary here.

danner boots has some great prices on thier military boots. any of yall own them, log some miles in them?
would you recommend?

I've owned danner boots not for military purposes but for the work I used to do and they were around 600$ and high tops best boots I've ever owned. At first it sucks breaking em in like any other boots but once broken in, they are great for anything, and last a long time.

Never had Danners, but I have a pair of steeltoed Red Wings that I bought in the 90s, and they've been through massive use and abuse, still holding up great, sort of look ok in a gruff way, even if the tread on the soles are worn off. I should have them rebuilt, if RW offers that service.

Yeah...we were given 2. A pair that was breathable and a pair that was insulated. Had the eagle globe and anchor on the heel. Rugged and durable for sure. Comfortable? Hardly

Danner Arcadia are pretty good. But for comfort there are many other options with similar if not cheaper prices. Nike Field Leather, Blackhawk Warrior Wear, Rocky S2V which I wear. Even Adidas and Under Armour have great pairs. Nothing wrong with Danner. But if your on your feet all day they're better options for comfort.

im looking at something for elk hunting. my last pair of boots were Irish setters, got 5 years out of them.

gr8's comment about lack of comfort will have me looking elsewhere.

ill hit up cabelas next week

Adidas and Nike both have great military boots and are very comfortable. About 150-200$.

Schnees boots out of Bozeman Montana make some kick ass elk hunting boots. Give them a look.

I just purchased some Cabelas boots, 8" high and goretex, with 400g of thinsulate insulation. Felt the most comfy of all the ones I tried on.
Cabelas employees didnt know shit about there products, barely knew where to look for boots in the storeroom
