Anyone want to help frank the tank

I just had 7 years clean off Meth, alcohol, and every other fucked up drug I could shove in my body..through smoking, eating, snorting, drinking, and needles. If anyone is ever having issues with that shit and needs a hand, hit me up. That lifestyle nearly punched my card when I was weighing 100 lbs at the age of 27. Sobriety (and a certain program) completely changed the course of my life and took me in a direction that I couldn't even have dreamt of. I love to give it back, and it keeps me clean and sober.

He will be here Sunday
Thanks for the update and hopefully he can make a post on here to tell us all he's still alive. He fell off the wagon and I am sure he has the fortitude to get clean once and for all and get back into the gym as well!

i have high hopes for him. Considering, he had what would have taken most people out of the game entirely, when he fucked up his spine, but he bounced back extremely fast.

If he really wants this part of his life (dope life) to be in the past, he'll put it there and perceiver, just as he did with that injury.

Everyone reaches a bottom eventually. Most times the bottom is death with heroin.

I don't help many people monetarily... aa and na are free. Walk your ass into a meeting and ask for help... I detoxed more times in a cell or on a couch than I care to count- rehab is a luxury some are afforded that is not the high recovery rate one would hope- but often that's because people are trying to escape life circumstances and aren't done doing drugs and alcohol.

I have helped friends over the years... never works out.

This is really all that needed to be said honestly. There is a reason the programs have been around for 80+ years and still works. The biggest key as Brutus said is, is the person ready...

[QUOTE="HIGHRISK, post: 2198684,. If it wasn't for my son, my girl who now is my wife who put up with my dumbass for 20yrs. I'd be dead or locked up!

That's an excellent point, bc those who kick an addiction have what NO rehab system can provide, a strong social support system and something worth living for!

@Millard Baker How about a sticky on this subject ? I honestly believe Meso's community would support such an endeavor. (I'ii do my best to ensure it does not morph into some anti-AAS thread!) .

I have to strongly disagree with you, to an extent. A GOOD rehab provides you with EXACTLY that. A strong support system. At least in my experience with the last treatment center I went through. In my personal opinion, treatment centers that are nonprofit generally, provide these things for you. You straight up walk INTO a support system on day 1 minute 1. I live across the country from the center I went through. I could call over 10 guys right now that went through there and they would drop whatever they were doing to help me out.

The exeception, in my own,and working with others experiences, is the lush insurance based or out of pocket treatment centers are garbage. You dont get that support system because generally everyone is from out of state or different parts of the state. So after the 30 or 60 days is up, you gotta start fresh again when you go home.

@wedorecover You know what it is. And I know what you're going through with him. I've been through it with many friends. Last one I went to bat for to get him in the treatment center I went through. Two days later he committed suicide via police with a toy gun. If I can give you one piece of advice, maintain your boundaries no matter what.
