Masculinity: What makes you a real man.

usually yes but not always.

Jacobsen syndrome
swyer syndrome
Klinefelter syndrome

intersexed people do exist, and it’s not just limited to their sex organs but their chromosomes.

What defines you as a man, besides the obvious organ?

I just have XY. "Intersexed" people can speak for themselves, but in general they are deficient in many masculine traits.

My answer was meant to convey the idea that "real men" have certain readily identifiable traits, PC movements notwithstanding.

i understand what you mean now, what makes you a man is your xy chromosomes.

Personally this is what I perceive as an ALPHA male. I know people can say, "Oh, well you don't need to be this or that to be a real man.". Yes, simply having some testicles and a penis makes you a real man. I think the point of this post is to describe what separates average Joe's, to the guy that is instantly respected wherever he goes.

1. Obviously muscular. Small guys always get picked on by big guys and you'll have a hard time being respected by a good amount of people if you're not at least average size. Obviously to be instantly respected by other guys, the bigger the better. If you're the biggest guy in the room, most people would rather kiss your ass than challenge you.

2. Good fighter. Even since way back in the day with gladiators fighting has been a sport that has separated boys and men. People can be anti-violence all they want, but it's not much of a secret that humans, especially men, love fighting. And the better fighter you are, the more easy it is to gain acceptance amongst other men.

3. Personality traits like hard working, honest, kind, being charitable, etc. Every man can respect another man that isn't afraid of a hard days work. Also being the kind of guy that isn't greedy or conceited and will help people out whenever they can even though they are the big rough and tough macho man that could beat you and your brother up at the same time.

4. Financial status. This isn't as important in my opinion, but it still helps. You can easily be a real man without a really fancy job, but being a successful investor and business owner with loads of money and their own charity only helps you be that little bit more respected. Now you would be at the point where other men might as well just call you daddy. Haha. Jusy kidding

And yes, hold doors for women.

The macho, arrogant, cocky, obnoxious, loud alpha type male is not a real man. Someone that can kick people’s ass is not a real man. Real men stand by their family, don’t bail when times are hard, takes care of their children, honors their wife, helps others, doesn’t put people down. Lives an honest life.

Don’t get pulled into the stereotype of what men are supposed to be like or what extreme feminists want you to believe
I agree 100% with this but i do think that you should "be able to kick people's ass" as you said or as I would say "a real man is able to defend himself and his family with swift and overwhelming force" aka violence. This is why I carry a Kimber 1911 on my hip all day when I am out if the house. If shit goes down I can defend those around me. Having a gun range in my back yard makes me more proficient than 99% of others who carry as well. The last 1%, those more proficient than me do not start fights anyway, they are sheepdogs and we are all on the same side.

The ability to put everything you hold important to you ahead of yourself. Meaning don't let your emotions interfere with your ability to persevere. Reassuring the ones you love that everything is going to be okay when you yourself aren't certain of that. Being able to face impossible odds with a calm and collected mind. Knowing when to fight and when to walk away. And never letting your pride endanger the ones you love.

Lol. I agree. I went on about “not being able to kick people ass” to get the “macho” out of the way. Blow hard macho guys aren’t men.

I also feel the need to protect. And I carry a sig380 on my ankle and a sig9mm on my hip when in public places. In my state we are only allowed to carry 10 rounds max. Although we are also allowed to carry as many 10 round magazines as we want. Doesn’t make sense. So I choose to carry (2) compact pieces and both have spare magazines.

BTW, looking sharp in the pinstripes!
What do you do for work? (Silent assasin?)

Gotcha I understand, I totally agree with everything you said. It's sad that our government feels that they have the right to restrict our magazine capacity... that shit just pisses me off even though I only carry 8 plus 1 with a 1911.
I'm in the finance industry but don't want to get much more specific than that. It's a pretty small world that I'm in.

Totally understand with the career.

The right to bare arms keeps a tyrannical government in check. Look at rogue nations like iran. Or Australia that revoked all firearms. Or Venezuela. A government going for control is not uncommon.
And when people reply saying “a little handgun isn’t going to stop a government with nukes and tanks”

My reply is “yeah? Let’s ask how gorilla warfare is working out for the taliban, isis, Vietcong, small groups of militia can cause havoc and would be the last line of defense before a small group of over educated committees take over the nation.”

This sort of thing typically begins with some socialism, then moves to communism. If anyone is interested. Look at the “democratic socialist” party web page. Read their mission. They are growing in size in the US.

Sorry. Went off on a rant

Also, real men carry 1911s not plastic glocks :D haha just kidding dont rain the hate down on me!!!
Here is me at work right now.

Is that a kimber with giraffe bone grip’s?
I have a Kimber Ultra carry, I had a set of bone grips and they cracked sent um back to Kimber and they gave me credit towards some G10 Crimson laser grips and that’s what makes me a Man! besides being born a male and ascending to a man.

Masculine: adj. having qualities or appearance traditionally associated with men, especially strength and aggressiveness.

That's the definition of what the word means. The definition of a word can't be changed because people who don't fit in it feel bad.

Some people are masculine. Some are not. Some people are intelligent. Some are not.

What would anyone think if an obviously stupid person (low IQ) wanted to change what intelligence means because they feel bad they don't fit...

It's a Kimber Custom TLE II so it came with those sticky rubber grips meant for combat use. I took them off and replaced them with pre ban elephant ivory. I've done this on several of my 1911s. Ivory is perfect for Suit & Tie wear because it is extremely grippy while shooting. If you've ever held it before you know what I mean.... but at the same time it's slick enough that it doesn't catch or rub on my suit lining and dress shirts. Unfortunately it looks like Ivory has been banned again and obtaining it is getting more and more difficult and more more expensive. I understand the moral implications have no qualms about it. I wish they would find a way to remove illegal tusks for sale on the black market while creating a legal Market. Something like domesticated elephants raised specifically for their tusks but not killed in the process. Similar to sheep wool, you don't have to kill the Sheep to harvest the wool just like you don't have to kill the elephant to harvest the tusk. This would put poachers out of business and we would have access to legal elephant ivory.

Isn't that the reason all the standardized tests are increasingly dumbed down each year?

Your talking about state and federal testing. I am talking about actual Intelligence quotient. It's been changed throughout the years, but not to be easier. Someone <70 is still mentally handicapped, >130 is still gifted

Its really crazy, allmost all women i ever met stereotype me as the typical asshole and as soon as they find out im the opposite, i get ditched or played with.
Im the kind of guy being nice, making compliments, always giving sound advice and not letting anyone slip into some bullshit, always trying to be a man "followinb the system" and not doing illegal shit, you name it. Yet i end up being the guy bitches hit up when the stereotypical assholes ditch them and they have noone else to do stuff with. And even then i pay for dinner and not get my fuck.
