TRT issues

So my doctor threw me on TRT about 4 months ago. I felt great, life was good. Turns out he didn't order some pre TRT blood work he was supposed to, LH and prolactin. So told me I needed to come off and get baselines of those two done. Here we are three months later and my LH is still tanked. Now he is saying that I need to get an MRI because the low LH makes it appear to be a pituitary issue. I am pretty frustrated with him, seems he should have ordered these baselines before I started my injections. Anyone else have any similar experience with their doctor doing something similar?

Nope. Sounds like he is learning as he goes and you are getting fucked as a Guinea pig. Right now he's documenting his file at your heath and we'll being's expense. Sorry. I don't suffer this kind of foolishness lightly so he'd answer for it. That said I do my own research and never rely on a pcp to get anything specialized correct.

your doctor is a fucking imbecile, fire him/her fast and run far away

My dr didn’t order any tests prior to trt, saw my previous low #s and offered trt, only tested t, free t and shbg because I asked for the T test. Only test he ordered was psa. Only difference is he never followed up and said I need to come off and test anything. In fact they only test me when I ask them lol

I had about a year of tests before TCT was approved, so you doc sounds like he didn't know what he was supposed to do. Get yourself to see a proper Endo to get everything done properly even if you need to pay for this yourself.

That seems like a good situation to be in. My doc will cut me off if I miss my bloods.

+1 on what everyone is saying, get a proper endocrinologist. This doctor doesnt understand what he is doing.

It’s great if you wanna run a bunch cycles. Bad thing is if you’re unfamiliar with stuff works cause they never tested lh/fsh or E before I started and at the time I wasn’t knowledgeable. I didn’t even know what lh/fsh was or that T converted to E at that time. Now I know but it’s kinda late to determine if it was primary or secondary unless I come off for like 6-12 months. I’m guessing secondary because of the past drug use and because I get a response from hCG.

Nothing good. He re tested my testosterone and it came back at 250 which he said is normal. I just did a cycle and will retest after pct and see were I am at.

That is shitty news. If you are serious about getting on TRT you need to go to a TRT clinic. You are going to spend some $ but they will make sure your T levels are at "optimum" levels. typically around 900-1200. Also, many TRT clinics offer Deca, Anavar, and HGH if you are so inclined.
After you are on TRT for a while, go visit your urologist. Explain that you are paying out of pocket for TRT and see if he will pick it up for you (assuming you have Ins). How old are you?

Yeah me too, I don't know if opiates caused my low t or I was born with hypogonadism. My doctor knows little to nothing about TRT so I am forced to do my own research.

I believe they call it Opioid Induced Androgen Deficiency. Opioid use causes a decrease in gnrh and lh/fsh. Obviously can’t be certain but I doubt I was born with hypogonadism, I used to get fat boners at age 3-4 and at age 5 I remember in kindergarten we had to line up for something and there was this Ukrainian girl in front of me and not only did she give a boner but I also had the tingles lol, plus all the facial hair and naturally muscular legs I doubt I was born hypo. I’m 99% sure my low T was from the drugs, opioids. If you also used opioids for a long time I’m sure it’s the likely cause, especially if your balls work.

I fought with gp's about my low t levels and finally got a referral to an endocrinologist. He ordered 4 sets of blood work and then prescribed me 100mg test e every 10 days. No mention of follow up blood work, didnt even want to see me again to renew my prescription. I do live in a rural area and it's a 200 km drive to see him so this was actually a good thing. But then I got some pretty sever acne and I had to do my own research, mix and match doctors and medicine and bloodwork and basically figure the whole damn thing out myself. It's a total cluster f here in Saskatchewan, but I think I'm on the right track.
