Xray showed a nasty looking bone spur on my elbow tip, 2 ortho docs chalked it up as tendonitis. I did a cpl PRP injections from Doc, a little therapy, and had to train light all of 2018. I can get to a certain poundage on presses and any hinge type movements for triceps are either with about 50 lbs max or completely neglected.
Close grip bench doesn't bother it as much, lots of close grip on smith machine for any tricep work. The pain has persisted for almost 2 years now and my gut feeling tells me the bone spur is stabbing the tendon area and tissue near the tendon.
The resolution at this point is most likely surgery, thought atherescopy was all that was needed from everything I've researched. Seems simple enough; grind off the spur and remove the scar tissue it's formed around it. Elbow feels stiffer than the other one time to time and although I csn straighten my arm, as soon as that tricep wants to flex I feel the pain. Once a slightly heavier weight is used I'm guessing it's putting more pressure on the spur/tendon area and feels like a knife stabbing my elbow. It's only local to the elbow tip is what leads me to believe the bone spur is 100% the issue. A rehab program isn't taking away a boney formation that is like a knife tip.
Anyone been through this before? I feel like some of these Docs are giving me the run around and aren't confident with giving me a definitive answer. I'm at the point where I just want it fixed. Anyone who can give any info would be appreciated. I'm learning that most ortho docs and surgeons are good with waist down ortho issues but seem to know jack shit about elbow. Thanks in advance to anyone who can give some experience
