Where the Metal Heads at?

Kind of a long post. But might be worth the read.....

Metal head here! In Flames has been my favorite band since I was 17. I'm 38 now.... I know they have gone softer and more mainstream the last few albums. But they really can do no wrong in my ears. And their new album I, The Mask is great Imo.
Somthing very cool they did for me and my son....
I won't a contest about 10 years ago in their fan club and got to play guitar on stage with them during a show in Omaha NE. Got to hang out with them all day from 10am till about 2am. They got me hammered. Bjorn put a beer on a monitor and said this is your bar, anytime I put a beer there it needs to be drank. Lol I'm not a light weight either. But from 10am till 2am I was smashed lol.
Was honestly a dream come true since I've liked them for so long.

I got to play Episode 666 during sound check and Jotun during the show with them. I had access to where ever I wanted to go all day. In their tour bus. Back stage. Was amazing.

Since then I've met them a couple times again and they always remember me. Call me "guitar hero" lol. Since I'm a random dude on the internet. I posted a pic as proof.
AND I just saw them in Atlanta last month and got the VIP pass so I got to meet them again and they all remembered me again. I brought my 13 and 10 year old sons (yes they had hearing protection). They also love In Flames. We were right in the front and during the show they all kept coming over to my 10 year old son and pointing at him. Bjorn reached down and fist bumped after a song. He thought that was the coolest thing. BUT! Before the last song. They called him up on stage and let him be on stage with them! It made his night, he thinks he's famous now. Lol. I can't believe they did that. They are so good to their fans. Here's a video of him on stage with them. Watch at about 1:30, Anders says "fucking scream my friend". My son: "AHHHH"!!!! Haha. I was so happy for him.

Hope the pics came thru right. First time posting pics on this site. Also this was 10 years ago. I'm a tad bigger now lol

But other bands I like are
Soilwork, Disarmonia Mundi, Killswitch engage, Demon Hunter, Trivium, Dark Tranquility, Demotional, Dreamshade and tons of others. But usually stick to Melodic type metal.

Awesome

Listen to a band called "eye of the enemy" , I'm a huge Lamb of God fan and it takes a lot for me to compare anything to them....but this band may be just as good and they're on another level!!!

You'll thank me

This song starts kinda ok but really gets to rocking about a quarter of the way in. My hats off to a band who's been putting tgrashingbfor almost 40 years now! Long live Bobby Blitz and the greatest band to come from my home state!

Not really into traditional metal. I love old sabbath and stoner metal.

lately I've been playing this a lot at the gym. It's metal, but kind of "ambient" so you can focus on the task at hand. Also it all goes together as a long form album so I don't have to keep fucking with my phone

I need heavy in your face metal with break downs. I like to time my lifts when a break down happens so I am extra AMPED!!!!!

Anyone got any albums to recommend that meet this criteria? I got Spotify so I can listen to anything!

Coming off a rest day and training a weak body part today (chest). I am ready to fuck shit up! Just need some metal to give me a nice extra push!

Rammsteins newest self titled album is easily the darkest thing i think ive ever heard. Its not dark...more like jet black. Of the finest order.
The lyrics remind me of old slayer songs like angel of death. They touch on some pretty dark shit. Its pretty sophisticated and they are as bold as they come
