Homebrew wrong measurements?

Everytime i brew (i use suction filter)
The amount is always off.
For example I'll brew for 20ml and end up with 16 or 17. If i add that extra oil lost, my brew is underdosed right? Lol

I use BK calculator by the way.

Are your displacements off? When brewing for yourself I find it's best to brew by volume. Prewarm some oil and measure out exactly "X" amount and etch it into a beaker

sounds like your not accounting for the few ml that will be caught up in the filter. There will always be a few ml that will be soaked up by the filter. this should only affect final volume and not the mg/ml of the final batch, as the steroid was added during heating and mixing not during filtering. you could add the missing ml to the filter to displace the soaked up portion as many do.

Thanks mr

@onslaughter just to be clear on how to do this (and assuming your measurements were all correct) when you are done suction filtering and notice a few ml down from projected volume. Add those missing ml of oil into the filter and suction filter that into your mix. This should displace your steroid added oil in the filter. The larger the batch the less this may affect the final mg/ml ratio. I hope this makes sense.

Helps a lot

If I’m going to make 100ml of something with 2/20 I add the 2mls of ba, 20mls of bb, powder, and roughly 60ml of oil in a graduated cylinder to mix it. Obviously it’s not 100ml at this point, more like 85-90ml. Once it’s in solution I pour the oil into the beaker. Then add however much oil you need to hit the desired volume.

If you’re saying the volume is short AFTER the filter then pls disregard above statement.

You will always have loss into the filter so making a larger amount will reduce the % loss of total. Make at least 100ml.
