To those who had rotator cuff injury

I had a football game today and got tackled, guy ran across me and my arm got stuck as he ran past me, and i felt a snap in my shoulder.
It hurt at first and the pain went from back shoulder to side shoulder delts down to triceps.. It wore off now

Cant really tell if it was a tendon or ligament, it doesnt really hurt now and i have full range of motion.

Would a rotator cuff injury still hurt or are there types that are injured but not feelable?

Im asking here, because i have another game in 6 days and i cant get an appointment to mri so fast.

I can also do pushups if this helps a bit with diagnosis lol

Hold both are out in front of you as if you were sleep walking.

Have someone try to push your hands down., if your arm gives out then I would say you got problems boy.

Yeah if it's full tear you wont be able to resist either up and down or side to side. I tore mine in half and the doc could push my arm in towards my chest but not down. It depends which of the rotator cuff muscles you tear(4 of them).

My insurance didn't cover a MRI so they did an ultra-sound just as good it saved me around a $1000 you may want to check into that.

So today ive had an ultrasound done, it says:

Tendons of rotatorcuff are ok, but on the tendon of musculus supraspinatus, he sees something, possibly a partial tear at almost 1inch in size.

Mri will be done on friday.

Whats the difference in rotatorcuff and musculus supraspinatus? Isnt it a part of the rotator cuff?

So yesterday I wouldnt resist and try, so i sidelateral-raised a 45lbs plate and just felt slight discomfort.
Also frontraising 22lbs doesnt hurt really.

But as soon as i try to make a biceps pose, i feel pain in back of delt...

It connects at the back of the shoulder and is mostly involved in lateral abduction with the arm already raised near parallel. I have surgery scheduled in early August for a supraspinatus tear (among other things).

That's where the long head of the biceps connects (and the supraspinatus tendon).

Its really weird, you can imagine my whole arm being raised 90 degress, forearm up, at biceps pose, and now the whole arm gets pushed BACK. Thats what happened when i felt the snap, id rather thought something in my front shoulder should have snapped, since the front part obviously got overstretched, while the back of my shoulder normally got compressed..

Have u torn it fully or is it partial?
And any other damage?

Weird, so it seems that supraspinatus tebdon is deeper than the rotator cuff tendons.
Rotatorcuff tenonds are fully ok, while supraspinatus supposedly has an almost 1 inch tear

My supraspinatus tear is a full thickness 3mm wide vertical tear. From the MRI I have a grocery list of other smaller tears, tendonosis and degraded parts. I assume the supraspinatus tear is what made it impossible to raise my arm, though I still don't know how I did it.

I can raise it now, sort of, after two months. I still can't front raise a 5lb DB with the left arm, but have no trouble raising 60lbs with the right, so without surgery recovery might take a while..

The RC tendons form a bowl shape to keep the joint in place, while the supraspinatus connects the arm to (I think) the scapula.

"Only" 3mm and you cant front raise 5lbs?

Well like posted above, i was able to frontraise around 22lbs, i was doing swuats and loaded the bar with 45lbs plates, and tried side lateral and front raises.. Pretty painfree except minor pain..really curious what an mri scan finds out..

I wish you a speedy recovery though and hope they can fix all of your issues
