Cowboy's Switch the Darkside

I was thinking it was bar placement being on your wrists, but your placement looks fine... question: when you press heavy, do you feel like your tendons are twitching inside your arms? If you do, you’ll know exactly what I mean—if not, it may sound weird. It almost sounds like your tendons aren’t used to the pressing volume/load. I know at least for me, it took a long time to build tendon strength (and I still am)... that may be your issue. When I first came back to the gym, pressing 235 had me laid up all night cos my arms felt like they were on fire.
No twitching that I have noticed.

Congrats on 2 plates BTW. nice.

looking at your benching, your grip is really close (I know it’s comfortable), but it may be the cause of your issue as well—your triceps are doing an abnormal amount of work weekly. I think if you switch your grip up and alternate some, it may alleviate some of the pain. Just a guess tho.

How much wider would be a good spot? And thank you

Typically, you want one of your fingers on the power rings. (I use my ring fingers)

You literally hit a 225 close grip BP lol. Your triceps are strong dude. I think you just need to let them recover some and let your chest do some of the work. If you got used to a wider grip, I think your bench would shoot up.

a wider grip will change your bar path tho—so be mindful of that.

Well this is why I posted the videos thank you. You guys have me so much on squat and deadlift that it was time for bench. Much appreciated

Yes definitely try various grips. It will also challenge you with the weights and give you another physical and mental stimulus

Pretty amazing looks perpendicular when I look at it laying down, then look at it on video and not so much lol....

It's my theory that not being perpendicular could potentially cause forearm aggravation because instead of transferring force straight up and down you're at an angle. But I have zero background in anatomy, physics, or sports medicine and I have a 10th grade education, so take that with a grain of salt. Obviously doesn't affect everyone like that because plenty bench wide and narrow, but maybe if you aren't used to it.

Bro your strength has come a long way. You've seriously made some great progress since I remember first starting to get to know you I think about a year and a half ago. Keep crushing it

I'm working on it man. Gotta get surgery on my hand again soon which will be the last one thank God. I can't wait to jump back into everything. Working at a gym now also doesn't make not being able to hit the weights that much harder haha
Glad to hear almost through it. Working at the gym would be cool though

I enjoy it a lot. I landed the position as Fitness Director so its cool to design programs for various types of people with different health conditions and goals. Pretty cool to be able to teach the trainers as well. Work doesn't seem like work. Just working on continuing my education but god damn do i itch to lift every time I walk in there or have a session with a client.

That’s gotta be like an alcoholic working in a liquor store, haha.

That sounds nice getting paid for something you love. Wouldn't even feel like work.
