Louisiana business man conspired with a local steroid UGL to sell anabolic steroids to members of an unspecified fitness facility.

Michael Mosura, a Louisiana businessman who was a franchisee of multiple Anytime Fitness facilities, has pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute anabolic steroids in U.S. District Court on August 8, 2019.

Mosura admitted purchasing large quantities of anabolic steroids from a local underground laboratory (UGL) operated by Brant Landry and his wife Julie Landry.

Mosura acknowledged that he used some of the steroids himself. He also admitted that he sold steroids to third parties over a two year period.

Mosura was originally thought to have had a more passive role in the steroid distribution scheme. Police suspected Mosura supported Landry’s sale of steroids to members of Anytime Fitness. But Mosura was apparently much more actively involved in the scheme.

“Further investigation revealed that Brant Landry distributed steroids to Mosura, who in turn consumed and distributed the steroids to third parties,” according to the official press release by United States Attorney David Joseph. “Mosura admitted to receiving and distributing the steroids.”

Mike Mosura was indicted as a co-conspirator alongside Brant Landry and Julie Landry.
The steroid conspiracy unraveled after a Bossier Parish Sheriff’s deputy noticed Brant Landry driving erratically on May 22, 2018. The deputy stopped Landry and found several drugs during a search of his vehicle. The drugs included 11 vials of injectable anabolic steroids and a plastic baggie containing Xanax powder.

Police opened an investigation and learned that Landry operated a steroid UGL and sold steroids to members of the now-defunct Bars and Scars Warehouse Gym in Bossier City. The Bars and Scars Gym was owned by Brant and Julie Landry..

The investigation revealed that Mosura was one of Landry’s top clients.

Mosura was the first defendant to accept a plea agreement. The details of the plea agreement were not disclosed.

Brant Landry and Julie Landry have pleaded not guilty. They are preparing to mount a defense against the charges in a trial scheduled for September 9, 2019.

Mosura will not be sentenced until the conclusion of the trial of Brant and Julie Landry. Mosura is scheduled to be sentenced before U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Foote on December 5, 2019.

Mosura was a Caddo Parish School Board member as well. He resigned following the announcement of his guilty plea in the steroid case.

Guess Mosura is the snitch obviously
I don't know about that.

Brant Landry, the UGL owner, couldn't stop talking when he was stopped during a routine traffic stop. He...

  1. consented to have his car searched. (Police found 11 vials of steroids.)
  2. waived his Miranda rights;
  3. confessed to importing steroid powder from China;
  4. confessed to selling steroids to friends and others for financial gain;
  5. notified police that he had a lot more steroids stored at his residence;
  6. admitted to manufacturing steroids in an underground lab located in his home;
  7. admitted owning a commercial pill press at his home
Landry could have legally exercised his right to refuse a police search; requested an attorney, and; asserted his fifth amendment rights against self-incrimination. But he talked...

Busted for Steroids After Leaving Dog in Unregistered and Uninsured Car with Fake License Plates on Hot Summer Day with Windows Rolled Up

If you guessed that Finch was caught with steroids as a result of a traffic stop, you would be correct. But that’s not even the beginning of Finch’s story. First, Finch had recently bought the car but failed to transfer the registration. Secondly, Finch did not bother to buy auto insurance for the car either. Thirdly, Finch used fake license plates for his vehicle. Fourthly, the license plates were not affixed properly to his car.

A few readers may even still have some sympathy for Finch’s plight at this point. After all, everyone is guilty of one or two (or maybe even four) careless oversights. But wait, that was not all that Finch did.

Finch decided to bring along his dog in his unregistered and uninsured Holden Commodore sedan with improperly-affixed fake license plates. There is nothing necessarily wrong with that in and of itself. However, Finch left his dog inside the car on a hot and sunny day during the middle of an Australian summer with all of the windows rolled up!

Loud Music Blaring from Car Leads Police to Louisiana Man’s Steroid Stash

Brandon Day should have known better than to draw attention to himself by sharing his music at an excessive decibel level with the neighborhood… Deputy Shawn Jenkins of the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office... took advantage of the Louisiana law prohibiting the “emanation of excessive sound or noise” from a motor vehicle on a public park, street or highway...

Of course, that didn’t mean that Day had to make it easy for officers to bust him for steroids. Unfortunately, Day was apparently already resigned to accept the worst outcome. He informed Deputy Jenkins that he had recently been arrested for marijuana possession. Day also invited the cops to search his vehicle and informed them that he kept his personal stash of steroids in the center console of his car.
