Early World War II (1940) Nazi K98 Mauser Bolt Action Rifle manufactured by the original Nazi Mauser Factory "Werke in Oberndorf" The receiver ring is marked with the "eagle" acceptance proof over "42". The left side of the receiver and barrel are marked with a single "eagle/swastika" firing proof and the left side the receiver side wall is stamped "Mod.98"
As a side note I have been bidding on these for quite some time but having received it now in my hands it feels completely different than the pictures portrayed it on the internet. Knowing that dozens if not hundreds of United States soldiers were murdered with this rifle has me "contemplating" my purchase. Part of me wants to put this in the gun safe and save it for future Generations so that history will not be forgotten and part of me wants to destroy this rifle completely. Kind of gay I know... I'm surprised I was so emotional unboxing this.
