Dam, how did this quickly turn into a religious thread.????

He seems to be pushing a different flavor of authoritarianism, not libertarian at all.
Plenty of Brits on mises.org, so it's not an alien ideology to all of you. You just have to shake your public school programming first.
It looks like thos "religious zealots" did quite well for themselves having started the greatest nation to ever exist on this earth that we know of. These are your beliefs, you should start saying "I think", "i feel" etc. You speak like what you feel is fact, when in fact no one knows who is right. Your "belief" is personal freedom but you dont know at what cost. Also no one is forcing you to comply, you always have the right to leave or find another country that suites your "beliefs" correct??You have to be careful anytime the majority want to force a minority to behave and pay respect to their beliefs and customs.
No one should pledge to a flag, no one should take and oath, no one should be forced or coerced into bending to dogma and societal norms.
The problem is the state and the people that occupy power in the United States will not tolerate any disrespect to their positions of power. Walk into a courtroom or any government meeting and the people that run it are full of themselves, so unable to bend their positions to see from a more enlightened view.
There simply is no open discussion in the United States, they hand you their documents, you question their wisdom, but they say these are our documents and we must follow them, you ask why and they say again these are the documents, we must not think for ourselves, we must follow what these fuckheads said a hundred years prior or I will lose my job and retirement/pension and my purpose in life which is to stick you in a cage for X number of years because you dared to question our bullshit.
The first group of Americans were kicked out of Europe, these were religious zealots, European rejects, puritanical tyrants that were going to the gallows in Europe so they fled for a country they could fuck up and they did fuck it up big time. They had a chance at paradise and instead decided to drag with them old ways of doing things that snuffed out the human spirit and called into question that which came natural. They came with a manual written thousands of years earlier, they had no vision of their own, just a silly collection of myths from a bronze aged goat herding tribe of people that obsessed over their foreskins.

That's not really an issue here tbh mate. I can see why you'd think it was, given the US state school system's practices (don't disagree with you there) - pledging the oath of alligience, hand on heart, national anthem, flags etc, but we don't do that in our state schools. It's what Nazi Germany, Imperial Japan & the Soviets also did after all to indoctrinate children, all of them our enemies, so it doesn't sit well with us.
The mandatory teaching of "British values" in al schools, private & state, is a very recent thing in response to home-grown Islamist terrorism post 7/7 & it's actually highly politically controversial.
That the majority have a much more collective over the individual ideology here compared to the US is more to do with our different histories, culture, religion & even geography. It's a lot more complicated than simple "establishment" indoctrination.
You're a young country, that began life as a vast, open, free-for-all frontier country where everything was up for grabs. It was still like that in parts less than 200 years ago. That's not something that breeds collective-focused cooperation, so it's understandable why you'd have a much stronger libertatian culture.
We're an ancient country, that's been putting aside our tribal / clan / regional differences to fight foreign attacks & invasion for 2,000 years. I'm mid 40's & less than 30 years before I was born our cities were having the living shit bombed out of them night after night after night for years. That alone breeds a culture of inter-dependence & collectivism.
The Israeli's are the same. They have an "island under seige" mentality like the Brits traditionally have & for the same reasons. The majority of Brits & Israeli Jews don't need to be told by the establishment that sometimes the needs of the majority outweigh those of the individual. It's passed down from generation to generation by the people themselves. United we stand, divided we fall.
You've never faced that as a people or country, that's all. Probably never will, you're too big & now too powerful.
Not saying the British state doesn't try to indoctrinate. All establishments do. It's just not something the state even needs to do in this case.
Also no one is forcing you to comply, you always have the right to leave or find another country that suites your "beliefs" correct??
So your response is that there is no where to go and that Anerica has ruined every country on earth? Really? That's a crazy position. I'm not the one that puts a gun in peoples face and tells them to comply.
This piece of rock existed billions of years before anyone called it the United States of America. The people that walk on this rock have the human right to move about without being threatened or caged for any number of rules that offend the state.
All states, all forms of government(there's no place to go now that the United States has exported their weapons and policing to the world), anyone that sets up a system that others must follow, must use force to make others do their bidding. It's no longer about preventing people from carrying out acts against person and property, we have legislators that have little to do except dream up more laws to cage people. A few basic laws centered around keeping your hands to yourself and off my property was all that was needed to form a state, instead we drastically increased the powers of the state under the guise of security(not freedom) and a federal reserve with the ability to create money out of thin air to give banks to give out as loans to enslave people to a government.
That's pretty fucked up. So I'm not the one using violence. I have a live and let live attitude as long as you leave me the fuck alone. That's all anyone is asking if they are truly seeking freedom based on voluntarism, a concept completely foreign to the vast majority of people that claim that America is all about freedom, a country that locks up more people than anywhere else in the world, has more people documented to not work because of felonies, and a country where the cops have complete impunity to blow your brains out and the right to deny media access to the information proving these fuckheads are instructed to murder us on sight. A media that instead tells us these idiots are heros(to get in the good graces of the cops) and have a dangerous job when we know that only 50 of them die a year and more than half of that is due to vehicle accidents, they barely make the top twenty of dangerous jobs in america and we continue to call them heros.
It's simple, keep the cops at their stations until they are called for help like fire or ems departments. Stop the patrolling on the streets, stop the invasion of homes. If someone murders, rapes, assaults, steals property or damages it willfully than you punish the offender.
Now is that really that hard to live by those simple rules, where the fuck did we get the idea to allow these road pirates the right to stop us, search us, fuck with us, kill us, beat us, torture us, take our money and property.....last time I checked that's why we fought the revolutionary war, that's what the British were doing to us and our people had enough, so why are the people today so agreeable to this sort of treatment, the so called patriotic types that tell us to gtfo, that think being bent over and letting a government take turns filling our asses with creampies is somehow freedom?
