Man thank God we are back. We got a shelter in place order for my county today. Gyms closed, kids are stuck at home with me. I thought meso was down as well. Shit is getting crazier and crazier.

Yeah gym closed this morning, work told us to file for unemployment yesterday. Not looking very good were I'm at. Shit is crazy, our dipshit governor is talking about schools being closed the rest of the year
It's a bad situation.
All my clients are not paying me because their accounting departments are all away from work.
I'll fucking take Corona Virus over this financial struggle right now.
If housing takes a shit, I'll have to file for bankruptcy... my tenants are already coming up with reasons not to pay rent.. coupled with no cash flow?

I feel for all you small business owners, and hell, anyone impacted by this financially and healthwise. Sure we bitch and moan about gym access, but I hate to hear about people's livelihoods being hit like this. Hopefully you're able to hold off your creditors and the like. Obviously most everyone is in the same boat and when it rebounds everyone wins if grace is given during these circumstances.

Yeah the financial implications are what's scary to me. This is going to bankrupt a lot of people. No work for 3 weeks minimum, unemployment doesn't pay shit, and most people I know are living paycheck to paycheck. I'm lucky I had a bit of a nest egg to reach into, it is still going to be tight. Hopefully my taxes get filed this week and should be a bit more of a cushion. Crazy fucking times for sure

Yeah my employer ghosting us.... said he was planning a vacation and welp. We’re waiting for our pay and guess who’s no where to be seen or heard from!!!???

I feel the worst because I REALLY dont want to lay my guys off.
But we pay well (Union Carpenters) and I dont know how long I can keep my boys going before the layoffs begin.
I keep my guys all year, my shit ain't seasonal.
One of the reasons for my succes is because my guys KNOW I'll make sure their Bill's are paid and food is on the table 365.
A company is only as good as its front line forces.
If this "Shutdown" only lasts 2 or 3 weeks, I'll survive... any longer and I'm kaput

THis is a shitty situation. Hope this settles down for you bro. I just lost almost $100K because of markets in last few days. Hopefully this virus situation gets under control quick in North America.

I'm in the Carpenters union as well. Glad to see employers out there like you. Talked to my boss earlier, there isn't much that can be done. They shutdown the whole bay area yesterday and today. It's complete insanity. Hopefully it is short term like you said. Although nothing about this has been expected or predictable so far.
Also it's worth mentioning that your guys can pull their vacation checks early without a penalty now. The rules changed this year, so not ideal but is an option if your guys are hurting

That's good, I didnt know Inter national Carpenters changed that rule, I'll let them know.. our guys go to town on hours.. I prefer to give me guys OT, rather than hire more and cut hours below 40, the guys love itSo they have decent sized vacation cheques, even though it's only March.

I sincerely hope your situation improves my friend. Just make sure you look after your family, friends and your health. Everything else will return back to normal in time. Tough times don’t last but tough people do!
The US is moving rather aggresive with it now since the last few press releases, if they are closing gyms too... Luckily alot of european countries have to yet to place limitations such as lock downs.
I am up in NH and my gym just closed today plus 9 more confirmed cases. Only a matter of time before the governor orders shelter in place. Good thing I work from home as I am an IT professional and I do feel bad for those who have lost or are in danger of losing their jobs over this virus.

Stay safe and keep your loved ones safe! Seems Canada is getting hit hard enough for the border with USA to be closed. Grocery stores where I am are picked bare, but I managed to snag some things to keep going.

You can't really graduate students that never completed the work. Then again with our education system here in the states, no one would ever know the difference.

I got a call from the school district yesterday asking if we had access to the internet and a Chromebook. I think they plan on having us do online courses with the kids to finish out the school year.

Little update on vacation funds. I filed online on Monday to do the early withdrawal. Checked my account this morning and funds were in there already, shit was lightning fast
One of my friends is a grade school teacher. He says he'll be teaching classes online the rest of the year.
