Where the Metal Heads at?

Not metal, but I recently found an entire new genre of music to me called "dark country" and it's some badass stuff!

Look up a guy named Nick Nolan. This is an example of what I'm talking abt. It's good shit, somewhat like hard rock but a little twang in there as well. It's tough

Just looked him up. Good stuff.

I'm sure there is already a thread on this but..... Let's see who's listening to what rite now...
My top 5 would be:
1. King810
2. Terror
3. Hatebreed
4. ASI lay dieing
5. Machinehead

I'd like to hear of some new bands. Feel free to put the Bull up on some new artists... @DrinkFlintWater
Dude I just found king810 a few weeks ago. Fucking legit. I’ve had “ain’t going back again” on repeat. I’m sure you’ve heard of him, but YAVID is dope too

Black Label Society will always be my number 1 though. I love Zakk’s solo stuff too

Not sure Torro around these days but...Yavid is definitely interesting....the conscious of good coke is probably my favorite off Gunns side gig. I do notice alot of it transforming 810 so to speak which is a hit or miss..

I haven’t listened to any of his side stuff. I’ll have to give it a go. I haven’t listened to him long enough to notice any subtle differences between albums yet.

Not gonna lie, i've never heard of any of these bands, with the exception of #6.

Don't get old kids. Shit doesn't always change for the better, believe me.

It’s all on personal preference brother. I grew up on Pantera, Metallica, and Megadeth and have been playing guitar for 14 years. I just gravitated to the harder, heavier, faster stuff as I’ve gotten older and so I’ve drifted to the Death Metal type music as opposed to the more classical type metal

What was the best is still the best.
As much as traditional metal is and was an outcast of misfits who stood alone from the pop world. This new age metal elitest group bothers me more than anything. I fucking hate it. And ironically enough i dont consider it heavy.

Hell johnny cash has heavier stuff than alot of that nonsense

i still love Pantera, Mudvayne and so on, but as i've gotten older i've lost my taste for a lot of stuff i once thought was great.

Like i said, don't get old. The idea sounded great when i was a kid, but now i feel cheated. :D

@Skeeto here is that thread I was talking about. Check out Monster God
Thanks for the mention...will definitely be checking this thread out.

Current band I’ve been jamming is “Power Trip”...they are from Dallas - good fucking thrash metal....IMHO early Metallica with a modern groovier southern flair.
