Path to a 500 wilks

How much does wraps numbers affect wilks compared to a competitors sleeved? I always wonder this.

It doesn't negatively impact it at all. Which I think is kind of weird they haven't tried to make a formula for wraps, etc. I thought for sure I would've passed my goal by now because when I made this thread I was basically less than natural, 10lbs lighter, and just as strong as I am now. Lol. But shit happens and I fucked up my shoulder. I'm not done yet though, just getting warmed up. Lol.

You squat like John Hack. Mid bar with the same kneee travel as High bar. Great music btw

I only wish one day I could squat as much as him. Or bench as much. Or conventional deadlift as much. Lol. I guess I can just hope he's less than 2.75" so I can say I beat him at something that matters.

I ripped a big chunk of fingernail off trying to wrap quickly at a meet. Was bleeding everywhere.

I can see that. Any of those PL suits/wraps/whatever suck to put on. I will never put a bench shirt on again. Took 3 guys and a bottle of baby powder to put on. My sides were so bruised after it was awful. Ive come to the point where its raw or not at all. But I do love seeing the numbers people push up when they're fully equipped!

I think that pain in my glute might actually be proximal hamstring tendinopathy. Lol. Almost like a sick joke. Let my shoulder heal up and now another tendon is inflamed. Ha. I'll probably just let it heal up the next few weeks and then come back with a more experienced coach. Kind of getting tired figuring out everything on my own. Lol

Getting a good coach is always a great idea.

Maybe you needed a deload anyways lol?

You've been pushing some big numbers on squat lately, wouldnt be the worst to just let it heal.

Haha. I just took a deload last week when it originally flared up. Was hoping to be able to keep my MEV and intensity up these next few weeks. I read that if you try to push through it though it can take MONTHS to recover. Right now it's pretty mild and I don't feel it unless I intentionally aggravate it. So hopefully that means a few weeks of R&R for my legs and it'll be good.

I like doing my own programming and stuff, but at the end of the day, I'm a lifter, not a coach. Lol. So hopefully having a good one will be that thing that helps me get back on track.

From past experience I was strong as balls but always had issues with injuries as I pushed over 80% max weight all the time. I find with training the 70-75% is optimal for most. Then push past 80% and up to 100 over 2-3 weeks, then deload again. It gets frustrating being hurt all the time. That I do get

Weight today was 192.2

Workout was,

3x6 paused bench @ 275lbs
3x8 tbar rows
3x8 viking press
3x15 reverse flies

Felt like I probably could've benched at least 350 if not almost 365 today. The couple days off the gym must be doing my body some good because I'm down a couple pounds but feel stronger.

Workout today was,

2x6 paused bench @ 245lbs
3x4-6 pendlay rows
X1 conv deadlift @ 495
3x6 viking press

Still kind of fucking around since I'm letting my lower body recover. Pendlay rows felt good, so I decided to see how easy i could pull 5 plates conventional yet. Actually wasn't too bad for not doing conventional in a year. Probably could've hit around 550

Guess I should probably update this. Lol. Stopped smoking weed and have been "off" cycle for about 6 weeks now. Kind of replaced weed with modafinil though. Lol. Good news is I've almost flipped a whole house by myself the last few weeks. Lol. Got it all gutted out, pulled new lines and put in a new panel, replumbed, and redrywalled. Going to finish the mudding quick so I can have a guy come sand it this weekend. Been lifting more hypertrophy based 6x/week and doing cardio every night with the dog. Down to a more lean 185lbs again. Hammy's all healed up, but I'll probably just wait until this place is finished, then take a good 4-6 months off work and find a good PL coach. The owner of my old gym actually is opening up the first PL gym in the area pretty soon too. Told him I'll try to be ready for a 7 plate deadlift at opening. Lol.
