Path to a 500 wilks

Thatta boy. Just don't let the ignorance is bliss come back to bite you in the ass haha. I did that yesterday. Tried to clean/jerk 135kg when I wasnt feeling it. Did it.... But tweaked my lower back and now im stuck to doing only light arms and shoulders till it feels better
 
You’re 2” below depth on that squat. Cut that sucker a little higher,lol

Haha. I'm used to squatting in front of a mirror. I was happy I got it a little deep instead of high. Still not sure 600 in wraps will be there at this next meet unless I let myself get up to 210 and compete at 198.

What do you estimate your raw squat at? 540? Look into some better wraps. Pioneers or Lillibridge, some kraits or patriots. I know the slingshots aren’t bad but I got at least 40 lb from the Lillibridge wraps that pioneer makes.

Probably a bit gracious. Maybe 520-530, I usually get about 50-70lbs out of these wraps. Could just be my squat style, I have a lot of knee movement, I guess that would probably get more benefit from the wrap? Lol

If you get that much from them there’s no need to change wraps. I’ve found I get more from the wraps if I push into them. Helps wearing a heeled shoe, forces the knee travel for me. When I used flats to squat and wore wraps I don’t get as much from the wrap, I end up sitting back more and mainly use posterior chain

Yeah, I've always been a more upright quad dominant squatter. I just feel a lot more explosive out of the hole and my elbows like high bar more. Lol. People always give me shit for squatting high bar instead of low bar. But I guess as long as I'm making gains, whatever. Lol. I actually just tried heels the last few months. The low weights feel good, but I find my feet flatten out causing knee valgus on the heavier weights.

Workout was,

X1 comp bench @ 325
3x3 paused bench @ 275lbs
3x5 floor presses @ 295lbs
3x10 french press
4x15 SS lateral raise and upright rows

Was supposed to do some light squats today but I strained my glute so I figured I'd take the day off

Bet that squat you did the other day did just that. Heal up fast brother :P
 
Ha. Yeah, then the heavy deads the next day didn't help. Felt pretty jacked up yesterday. Already feels 90% now though with only one day off. So shouldn't be anything that'll stop me from hitting big squats next week.
Nice, just don't injure yourself for real though!
