Building/selling power racks.

Hey there folks, so I have welding/fab experience and I've decided to pull the trigger and start building equipment as I now have a heated garage to work in and I'm looking for feedback on what kind of power racks you folks are interested in? I'm going to go with 3x3x1/8 tubing/.45 flux core and before anyone asks yes my certification is up to date Big thanks for participating.

So long as you're rated, you're good.

Obviously just make sure you're certified and the mill tests that come with all your tubular steel is attached.

Guys like me will want a heavier rating, I've passed up on equipment because it isnt rated for shock weight.

Just spit-balling here. Titan T-3 rack is a straight up copy of Rogues most popular rack and it comes in between $450-$600 shipping included. Can your welding speed compete with the little welding hands of chinese children? They need to in order to make this a profitable endeavor for you.

Hilariously enough, weights can be highly profitable if you have time.
For example, a friend of mine could custom make a full rack of weight from 5s to 100 dumbbells, for probably 800 bucks, the time to cut the cylinders and wait for the lathe to finish the nurling.

Would probably take a good metal guy, about 3ish hours to cut/drill press and weld the rack from start to finish

It's the other parts you mentioned, like safety rating etc that make all the difference.
Of the weld/steel is rated for shock weight (Weight being dropped multiplied by 6)
so in your 400+ Bench, the safety rating must be 2400 lbs of shock weight

Yah I'll stick to 3x3 tube then. All welds will be done flat with .35 mig wire and will be solid! Will also have ZERO spatter so when painted it will look awesome
