Cowboy's Switch the Darkside

Hmmmm they are asking so got to tell them maybe they also recheck later. No i was thinking cut over the next 6 or 8 weeks leaving me 12 to 14 weeks to come back up... i am worried being over eating and gear.
I am thinking I may not have worded or asked correctly.
Meet is 5 months away
I am over 100kg currently and want to do the meet at 100kg.
My thought is I have 2 months or so to cut under 210lhs, then 3 months to eat and get stronger and put the weight back on. I am worried if I dont drop some weight pre prep and start my cycle and eat more I will end up moving up a class.

The question is what I propose doable and a good idea or are you guys getting at not dropping any weight and move into the program at current weight hoping to not be over 100 on meet day 5 months from now?

Also all you that have done meets expect a ton of newbie questions

EDIT I weigh tomorrow but last weigh in I was 222 before xmas food so expecting to be 5lbs ish over 100kg now so talking a 10 to 15lb cut pre prep

I've never heard of giving openers or rack height except on meet day or at weigh ins. I wouldn't cut weight for a first meet either.
Emailed the meet director and was told to leave openers and heights blank, a referee would be doing it at weigh ins as you said, the registration form had it on it though... so all good doing my first meet

And now the questions and sorry ahead of time as there will be more than these but its a start

1. Open or Masters (46yrs)? read other thread just do open
2. They want my openers now but sure they will change in 5 months. What should I put?
3. Squat rack height I have no idea should I just get a tape measure and measure it? No mention on bench pin height
4. Weight class? I assume I will not be competing 90kg so 100kg is my guess. I am currently around 222lbs so slightly over and do not want to be in 110kg class. I have 5 months to cut and build back up keeping under 220. Any thoughts advice. Thinking diet, gear, timing, lots actually.

So freaking nervous and so much to learn...

@Perrin Aybara @Worf @theprodgicalson @Eman @Brandaddy
1. Masters 45-49
2. Openers are TBD, they can’t possibly expect you to know that. To be quite frank who Evers asking you that has no fucking idea what they’re doing. This should be asked 3-4 weeks out
3. Rack height? What the manufacturer of the rack? It would vary company to company what the pin holes are and this should be done a weigh ins.
4. 100kg
5. Diet now for the next 8-10 weeks, 10-12 weeks out blast a bunch of test and eat well, try to keep out the junk and maintain under 220. More than a 5 lb Water cut sucks

Shit I did Open

Edit height and openers left blank
Also ER Squat rack whatever that is in the app

If I am reading records for the fed right, I am currently 20 away on squat, 10 over on bench, and 10 under on DL... but not anywhere near close all feds combined records.

Whichever category you're looking at, that's the one I'd go with... I assume it's masters. You're looking at state records?

Not sure too new to this lol. Looks like the Fed record my age and weight class. Its a lot lighter than I would have thought. No where near other fed records though. I may have screwed up and registered for the open class. Wonder if they would let me change?

I was surprised at some of the records in my state also... If I went into the +308lb weight class I could take every record I think lol. I was interested in taking the bench record for the 242 but then a dude came in and swept the floor with my ability. I'd need to be benching well over 500lbs... And he's still competing regularly, so I don't think I'd ever catch up.

I think they’ll let you change it at weigh ins. Most of the time one of the questions is ” is this your first meet?” They should let you change stuff especially if it’s your first meet.

You should be able to add masters to your registration. You can compete in both open and masters at the same comp.

Honestly, my advise is different than everyone else's. I'd say for first meet don't worry about weight class at all. Check the federation rules, but most you can jump up or down one weight class, so long as its not nationals or a big comp.

I say eat, sleep, get as strong as you can and show up at whatever weight you are day before the comp.

Thanks, its me, I know on cycle I can jump up 15 to 20 lbs and nothing would fit me near 240lbs lol. This one is a qualifier.

Changing a registration how is this done since I have already registered and paid, its a little more to do both? I have already bugged the meet director asking about openers and heights would hate to be that guy asking again for something lol

First off, Happy New Year, hopefully a better year for everyone ahead.

I am going to email meet director and ask to change my registration to Open-Master crossover.

Planning blast and I will not be adding Deca as originally thought. But was going to add Proviron this go round as I know my SHBG is high and want the most from the test.
1-12/14 Test 500/wk
1-12/14 Proviron 50mg/day
9/11-12/14 Anadrol 50mg/day
Halo during blast on heavy days to get used to it and on meet day. Whats good dosage(20mg?) and how early to take before lifting? In meet when to take and when to take a second dose if needed? With plan above is there any changes (drop or increase anything)I need to do leading up to and during meet? It is untested meet. Is Proviron worth it?

I am pretty stuck on being in the 100kg class so will start cut this weekend. I donate blood today and should be good to donate again before I start blast. Thinking while starting cut start bringing up my test dosage, currently at 200mg a week will go to 250mg and just before I switch to Meet prep up to 500mg.

If you go up to 250mg/week test then do a blast at 500, you may not get the same punch out of the 500. Hard to say how you respond individually.
I would not use halo too much. It’s good to give it a go and check response but if you get reliant on it for heavy work that extra kick won’t be there on meet day. I think 10mg halo is good for PR’s and 20-30 spread over the day of your meet. It’s about 90-120 min before it really kicks in. Not sure what proviron will do except maybe keep you a bit more dry running test.

Thanks just making sure I know what to expect on it with the Halo so not used often. Proviron for me to just drop SHBG.

Confirmed now for both Masters and Open.

Time to get to work lol got 5 months to out this all together and will lean on you guys and hope you rein me in when needed too

For the next 10 weeks I think the routine you have currently is fine. Getting some volume in and 1-3 rep range stuff at RPE 8.5weeks. After that youll need to turn up the intensity and work on commands etc

Thanks Worf, I have not added in Rep method in yet is this something to look at for volume or are we talking smaller jumps up and then a few sets of singles, doubles and triples?
Cutting weight the first 8 weeks will affect strength leaving me 12 to gain it back
