Hi guys, I have high bp and couldnt train hard legs since I feel big headache in no time and I m always scared about passing out...

So I would try very low weight and very high reps for hamstrings like leg curl etc..

Does anyone tried that setup? Do you think it will give me headache no matter what?

This has happened to me, taking long break between sets helps and not pushing so hard. Like an rpe of 5 instead of 8.

can you donate blood, that always helps my bp headaches. What causes yours?

thats the only way i can do leg curl, low weight high reps, if doing the laying on stomach ones, press hips into pad, dont let hips come off pad, or else its cheating.

what about a low dose asprin?

i think it helps a little what you plan, but the bp still will creep up and give headaches eventually. But it will at least allow you to get some in. But for me the headaches happened eventually.

low intensity, long rests.

I transitioned into this as well, but, not because of your issue. My hammy popped at the bottom of an RDL with 315 and I dumped the weight and fell. Which happened 2 days before I blew out my shoulder. So, looks like I needed to make some changes at 47. The low(er) weight, higher rep thing definitely got me more and better activation, especially on RDL.

I would pobably do supersets, giantsets and use shorter rest instead and focus on not building up too much pressure and taking your time breathing properly during the reps, I would think that might be better.

I would address the cause of the high BP and fix that.

Thanks to all guys... I have it hereditarily, bp got worse after a bike crash, and after aas... so i m on a medication and some supplements, I started using 20mg Cialis EOD (since it has an half life of 36h) and will see , tomorrow I’ll donate some blood...

Thanks again to ya all @Bumpygooch @jJjburton @eery

Have you tried telmisartan? Aside from BP regulation, it has a host of other health applications. Cardio protective against the cardio toxic effects of nandrolone, blood glucose regulation, PPAR agonist. It’s a staple for me along with metformin.

What I started running yesterday. 80 mg daily.

I predominately train hams in the 15-30 rep range myself, they only got better from that. Best ham exercise ever is lying leg curls with a dumbbell between your feet, love em!!

Which way do you hold the dumbell? Vertical or horizontal when legs are straight, what weight do you use?

Been doing hammy curls lowering weight weight basically in half, and focusing on form and speed and ROM. They feel sore much more when done. I think feeling a good contraction of the muscle you are trying to exercise is much more beneficial then, pumping heavier weight that works other muscles. When i go heavier i activate the surrounding muscles more. But seems to take away from the muscle i am truely training.

Hi man thanks for caring,

I stopped cycle at the end of 9th week, and my bp was strangely good even the day before quitting.. I quitted because I thought I screwed bp again and so on but it wasn’t a bp issue so I think I was just overtrained.. and I had stomach issues due to tren .. but I did 9 good plenty weeks

I donated blood 3 days after I stopped my cycle so bp was lower, I trained hamstrings and quads with leg extension with lower weights but more volume and more time under tension.. I took long rests between series because I felt the headache was around the corner...

I think that this pump approach, more time under load, more rest, more volume, is the right one for those prone to headache..

Sooo, thank you Meso Bros for Pimping My Hamstrings

thanks to @jJjburton , @Ferenor , @Demondosage , @Bumpygooch , @eery for caring and suggestions.. <3

Have you tried those banded? DB + a red band is a whole new level of recruitment.
