Any good hyper trophy you guys reccomend?

Serious question, here. Do you think the guys working their way up through the amateur ranks and making it to pro status are doing PPL or a bro split?

John Meadows is Fouad Abiad's coach, but Fouad Abiad does a "bro split."

It seems to me that what is being called a bro split is the overwhelming choice of those actually finding success (trophies) at bodybuilding competitions. There are exceptions, of course, but I wonder whether others disagree with my assessment of which one is more popular among real bodybuilders (competitors, not gym rats). Of so, let me hear it.

I have RP excel spreadsheet and I take them as a starting point, it makes me train arms, 1 exercise only for one muscle group so day 1 of lower, i do 1 exercise for triceps, and at the end of the lower day 2, 1 exercise for biceps. I also have other spreadsheets that do target some muscles more than others, this one was the full body / generic. Next round is the arms/delts focused. Start low with the volume and increase it every often, deload and up the weight.

I know PPL isn’t new, however, I think it’s popularity is pretty recent. My theory is any current recent pro or close to pro probably training for at least 10 years has always done bro splits and it’s worked for them, so, they won’t change. Anecdotally, for myself, I did bro splits for over 25 years, PPL for the last 3, made more progress in the last 3 than the previous 25. I think I’m able to maintain intensity for 8-10 sets per body part per workout as opposed to doing 20 sets, by set 12, you’re smoked(if you train with any intensity) and after that it’s basically a wind piss, again, my theory.

Addendum: a couple of kids I know of do PPL, one 16, one early 20s. Stupid to extrapolate that all kids are doing PPL. Point being, I think that maybe in 5+ years there will be a bunch of pros who use PPL, as it seems to be gaining traction, i.e., mountain dog and other programs. Theory is purely speculative, at best. CBum uses, or at least used PPL, as he has a YouTube vid going over his routine.

Types of split in the chart, those are some programs from John...

I think people switches between type of split

right now I m doing PPLArms but I do 5 split routines, 1.5/2 hours morning 1/1.5 hour evening... something like more excersises than PPL in one session... today I did 5 excercises for pec and this evening I’ll do 4 for delts and 2 for triceps, since I do Arms one day during the week..

I did a nice cycle of 9 weeks then cruise, and today I’m ending 4th week on cruise with 250mg test e only...

I didnt lose any muscle , gained some strength due to estrogens maybe and developed better chest and shoulders those 4 weeks..

never achieved this shape before since I did just another couple of stupid cycles during the last 2 years but then lost every gainz..

We ll see in the future what I could achieve.. right now I m pretty satisfied because finally muscles are growing and developing, and that’s thanks to right training and diet... but I now think that training it’s to much undervalued... instead of peds

I think the vast majority do bro splits or even completely intuitive training... But, the vast majority shouldn't really model what pros do either. Pros can just get away with a lot more than than a normal person can. However, on the diet front, I think they are much more tight on what they do and can get away with.

That’s how I feel about guys emulating routines that pro’s are doing. I wish someone would pay me to workout, do meal prep for me. Schedule deep tissue massages for me twice a week, exc. I just have to show up for some photo shoots now and then, and post shit on IG about how great So snd So supplements are. Im just fucking around really- I can only imagine what it took to get them to the point of being a Pro, the dedication- sacrifices- discipline. It just makes me laugh when guys with no mass, little experience, and just a few supplements from GNC try to run routines that enhanced- pro athletes are doing. Guess we all learn from trial and error though, I was once the kid who didn’t bench press but thought cable fly’s were good enough for chest o_O

I'm doing 5/3/1 BBB right now but don't feel like it has enough volume. Looking for something better but I've definitely made gains on it, I just feel like if it had more volume the program would be significantly better. The main reason I gravitated to it is it's fairly short, can bang out work outs in under an hour, definitely have been looking into transitioning into a ppl type program. So the suggestions here look like they will be helpful as well. Anyone ever use Lyle's generic bulking routine? I have some concerns but it seems like it's ok to build off of.

LOL! While I share your wish, there is not a lot of money in bodybuilding. You would be shocked how many "pros" work real full time jobs, and almost all amateurs do while trying to make pro status.
