Lol man I built most of these. No special permits required. You just can't be a felon and can't be off your rocker mental. With that being said it doesn't stop felons from buying guns like these illegally. Man you can order 100% of the parts to build these online lol.

Used to own one, seriously consider a different gun if it's for carry purposes. The military used them because Beretta was the cheapest bid at the time. They shoot innacurate as hell and the safety mechanism sucks! So many ppl flip it up and then as they try to reposition their thumb they accidentally flip it back down. I bought mine cause I liked the look as well, but I would seriously consider a Glock, S&W or a Springfield before that

Haha, fortunately never. But I never thought of the issue with safety placement until I met a guy that taught advanced handgun classes and pointed out how terrible of a gun it is for self defense, and he saw a lot of combat and carried that gun for a lot of years. Most soldiers that carried that gun hated it. Beretta had to redo the entire slide because anyone with firearms experience that knew abt that gun could literally pull the gun apart in someone's hands. I think it's a badass looking gun no doubt, nicely made and probably the least kick out of any 9mm out there. I'm just saying for the cost of that gun I would try out some others first as far as a carry gun is concerned

The only thing good about a beretta is the fixed barrel. Get a threaded one and screw on a can.
No frills black handgun that punches holes everytime is a GLOCK.

Man I had no problems with the weapon in combat. Never!!! Its like with any weapon though, you have to train with what you use to be proficient with it. And no one is going to do that Jet Li shit with a Baretta in combat. The only thing that can happen is if someone knows to hit the barrel hard enough before you're able to shoot it can take the weapon out of battery. But is that happens something has truly went south and you did not fall back on your training. Great gun for the dusty conditions in Afghanistan and Iraq.
