My son is very athletic, he's not a couch potato and is not overweight starting a year ago, he has accumulated fatty tissue and/or puffiness around both nipples. They look like small breasts but there are no lumps or anything. Obviously he is self-conscious about that.
We took him to an endocrinologist and his bloodwork is fine, everything within normal range. However, when we asked her about SERMs or DHT cream she said it would not help, that the DHT cream would convert to estrogen and make it worse. Hello, idiot, steroid guy here, I KNOW DHT doesn't convert to estrogen. She would not admit her mistake and she said really the only thing we could do is either wait or have elective surgery (i.e. insurance would not cover this).
So the question is, what would be best to use to treat this. We are going to another endo and I want to make sure we are more proactive in telling the doctor the issue rather than hoping the doctor will just have experience treating the condition. Is DHT Cream the better option (Andractim) or a SERM (like Nolvadex or Roloxifene)?
