Hey there fellers. So I have a pretty basic question but it is one I’ve yet to find an answer for on my own so I had to break down and post. Anyways I’m not a first time brewer but I’ve also only been brewing a couple years so I have a ton to learn. My current issue is that I received a batch of cyp raw in January from a source I’ve been using about two years. But I’m this shipment all of the raws looked totally different than normal. I asked the company rep why and was refused an answer.
So fast forward to last week, I finally needed to brew another 100mls of cyp and used to the same recipe as always. Gso, 19bb, and 1ba. Everything mixed fine and filtered well. But after it all cooled and sat a while my curiosity got the best of my and I wanted to see if this will crash at a reasonable temp (mainly because how the other raws looked).
After trying the fridge and getting no crashing whatsoever I threw the vial in the freezer. I waited about 1 hour and still no crystallization at all. Has anybody ever had cyp that simply would not crash? Any opinions?
