Been beside myself lately on just going the bald route but wanted to get opinions from those experienced on here. I’m attaching a pic I took yesterday so you can see how thinned the back of the head is. Would taking finasteride be beneficial at all?

A lot of people claim negative side effects with it.

I was not in the best of health when I took it, and it definitely was not good on my system.

Appreciate your reply. Yeah I’ve been reading hit or miss with side effects depending on person.

finasterides been great for me but i hopped on way earlier than you. i think minoxidyl would be your best bet at that stage. once you regrow more i'd probably add in finasteride to it (in like a year) but you'll have to keep doing the minoxidyl daily

Thanks. Is the Minox something I can order say off Amazon?

I got all puffed up from Finasteride. My sex drive basically vanished after it. Did that cause it? I don't know. The stuff really gave me respect for taking prescription medication, without a Dr's referral. LOL

So, I'm guessing, if you have other things medically going on with you, it maybe can make them worse.

Take that along with all the other negative things you hear about it.

Vast majority of people have no side effects from finasteride. Particularly when you're on TRT anyway vs being a natty or someone with low test already. The minority that whine about finasteride are vocal and make up the people you see on social media or forums telling horror stories.

I've taken 1.25mg/day (5mg Proscar split 4 ways) for over a decade with no noticeable sides. I've been hard, dry and lean on it. I've been fat and fluffy on it. TRT and blasts. The variables impacting my sex drive, erection quality, strength or body composition all trumped finasteride being in the mix. It was never a limiting factor except for less DHT conversion. Most people vocal about finasteride on the internet are dipshits. Just remember that.

You need finasteride minoxidil and micro needleing and be off aas to see what you can recover in a year and then maybe consider a transplant to fill in the rest or just go bald

If you start stick with it. Multiple times guys have started on fina and stopped after seeing the shedding. The shedding in the beginning is normal and shows the fina is working.

I was on it for a few years along with minox shampoo. It’s great for filling in thinning hair. If you’re looking to get some hair back from a receding hairline you won’t see much benefit.

I had no ED issues while on it. The only reason I stopped is because the barber shops closed during Covid so I just shaved my head. Been doing it ever since. Once I came off fina there was some slight drop in sex drive after coming off. Took a few weeks to go away and everything is back to normal.

Go to a dermatologist and get it prescribed. It’s cheaper than those stupid Lemonaid or Hims gimmicks. Just ask the doctor for the 5mg pills and split into quarters. With insurance I got 30 5mg pills for $1.70.

I came to this conclusion as well. I’ll be hopping on my next blast while transitioning into trt.

Seems like all these dumb fucks aren’t even on test to begin with that have issues. I don’t think I’ve read a report of someone on trt with an issue.

Peter bond also commented on a post of mine that it’s more of a mental block for many of these people which I can believe. It’s funny reading those horror stories about how they get EVERY side effect. Not just one or two but entire world crashing down side effects…

I had problems with it, but I was not on TRT at the time.

I've never seen any medication with so many people complaining about side effects as this drug. Where there is smoke there is fire.

But.. I'm tempted to try it again, since I am now on TRT.. and I no longer have my previous medical condition which it exasperated. It considerably affected my condition.

So finasteride won't restore your hair while you are on AAS?
I'm going to try and keep this short, but I haven't visited the forums long enough, this may end up being an entire book, lol.

All androgens have the potential to bind with the androgen receptors in the scalp. Now, as we all now, androgens do different things in different tissues, unfortunately, in the scalp, almost all androgens cause hairloss. The level of destruction to your hair follicles will depend on the androgen, as well as your individual response.

As a 5ar inhibitor, finasteride helps improve the situation by keeping test from converting to DHT, since DHT has an insane binding affinity with certain tissues, the scalp included. Test doesn't have the same binding affinity, and isn't as destructive to hair follicles even if it does bind to the AR in the scalp.

Here's the kicker for guys using AAS: Not all steroids convert to DHT through 5ar, and not all of them are more destructive after 5ar. In short, the only AAS finasteride can keep from causing hairloss is test. Many of the DHT derivatives are just going to fuck your hairline no matter what you do. The only truly hair safe cycle is test with finasteride or dutasteride. You can probably add some deca and be fine, but even then, with a test base (the only sane way to run deca) you're getting more DHT in your system than you want (regarding hairloss), and god only knows how 5ar inhibition impacts deca usage.

Negative effects come from finasteride use (in far less than 1% of individuals who use it) when DHT drops so low, physiological function is dramatically impacted. DHT is important for masculinization during puberty, but after that, DHT is barely important for anything at all. It fills certain neurological function, and seems to have an impact on sexual function, but you need such a tiny amount, it's a truly unique individual who experiences side effects from finasteride use. If you're on TRT/cruising, I wouldn't worry about potential side effects from finasteride. If you're natty (lol yeah right), there are certain markers you can look at to see if finasteride is right for you, but I don't want to write a novel here.

If you really want to grow your hair back (rather than simply halting the hairloss) you need to use ru58841 in conjunction with finasteride. RU binds with androgen receptors at the scalp through topical application, so the DHT and test will not.

RU has been amazing for me. I've never experienced any negative side effects. During trials, it rarely went systemic. Even when it did, its systemic circulation was transient and short-lived. Further, it didn't inhibit 5ar to the extent that finasteride did (while systemic), but still grew hair back to a greater extent when compared to finasteride.

Test + fina + RU = hair safe protocol. And if you're lucky, you'll seriously grow your hair back. Finasteride really helps your prostate too. As a guy in his 30's, this effect was noticed and welcomed.

Other compounds that can help:

Minoxidil -- I hate this shit. It gives you ridiculous dandruff and can actually cause hairloss for the first couple of weeks, while only yielding a 10% increase in hairgrowth at the very most. It's nice for facial hair growth if you want to use it for that, and lowers BP a small amount, but I hate it for use on the scalp.

GHK-cu -- This shit is fucking amazing in a million different ways. If you're serious about growing your hair back, don't apply the RU on Sundays but microneedle instead, and rub GHK-cu into the fresh wounds from microneedling. GHK-cu doesn't grow new hair all that well, but seriously thickens existing hair and protects those hairs from damage. It's also amazing for a slew of other reasons you can read about, while having no known negative side effects. I actually recommend using this on your entire face, scalp, and neck, in conjunction with microneedling. It's a fucking miracle peptide. I also inject it any time I have an injury to my connective tissue, and in my experience, it far outshines tb500 and bpc-157.

MK-677 -- Depending on how okay you are with the side effect profile of this drug, it may be an option. I will say, for me personally, I can stave off all of the side effects other than an increase in BP, but that doesn't happen every cycle, and some people never experience it. MK probably isn't worth using for most people, but it has a similar effect on hair follicles to GHK-cu. If you're seriously considering this, I can share my side-effect avoidance protocol for this compound. It's probably best avoided though.

HGH -- This has similar effects on hair growth as mk-677, just to a lower degree. If you're already using HGH, great. If you aren't, I don't think it's worth adding HGH for a hair growth/protective effect that's probably even lower on the scale than minoxidil.

If you really want to grow your hair back, shave it off, cut out all compounds other than test, use finasteride, use RU, microneedle once a week (don't use RU that day), and use GHK. Take progress photos once a week. If you don't notice serious improvement in 6 months, you're just totally fucked, lol. But seriously, this protocol is like sending a nuclear bomb to annihilate an indigenous tribe that has never been exposed to humanity. You should see serious improvement.

WOW!

That is a masterpiece post.

Hair transplant...

In all seriousness you need to decide how much your hair means to you as keeping it or in your case trying to regain is a lot of work and upkeep.

If its not worth the effort then go the route many of us took and just shave it and grow a nice beard.

Hey what’s your opinion on finasteride on a test, deca, and primo cycle? I see people on both sides saying either take fina with the cycle and some saying don’t take the fina with deca because it makes hair loss worse.
