Canadians talk domestic

2 years into lockdowns, trillions of dollars spent. How many construction companies do we have in Canada that could of built hospitals or temp hospitals with ICU beds?
Yes exactly, I agree. The Fed gave Ontario >$3b for Healthcare spending specific to COVID and none of it has been used. At the end of this all Ford is going to claim "good fiscal responsibility" for not having spent that money, but here we are in another lockdown when what we needed was 1) more nurses, 2) more ICU beds, and 3) better healthcare in general. Including diet and exercise etc

We should be building an infrastructure that accommodates disease outbreaks rather than going into hiding every time stuff we "never could have expected" comes up.

Well boys, all this talk of tests figured I'd chime in.

Just saying. Double vaxxed but only so I could keep working and training. To each their own.

However this goes for anyone thinking of traveling. Simply put. Don't.

Been in Puerto Rico for 2 weeks. Took 3 tests to get here from Canada due to flight delays. Anyways we finished our holidays. Got our pre departure tests and what do you know. I tested positive. Gf negative. So she's getting out of here while she can.

Myself though, I'm stuck here. Till January 15th at least. Shacking up in airbnbs in order to isolate. Can't even get a negative test to skip out of here early because you can test positive for weeks to months after recovering from covid. So 7 days of missed work burning through most of my vacation time in the first 2 weeks of the year.

This shit sucks. I'm also sick as fuck. Throat is so sore and inflamed that I can't even drink water.

not to mention, if the govt. really cared about your health. While they were waiting for this bullshit vax to rollout.. they could of sent out messages or vitamin home kits to help boost everyone’s immune system vitamin C, zinc etc all the on shelf products to put everyone in a better position.

Govt doesn’t give a fuck about you or me. Control is what they want.

I also must add. Before taking a drug, let’s take thyroid as an example. A doctor will test your natural levels too see if you need it correct? If you need to supplement thyroid the drug is then given to you. If your levels are normal. You don’t need it.

So if I have natural immunity to Covid. Why the fuck do I need a vaccine? I’ve had Covid yes I was sick. But I wasn’t dying or anything. Normal flu. But after getting it 9 months later I tested my antibodies and I was 400x the normal range.

With all of this shit going on, it just shows how poorly managed our healthcare systems are more than anything else. Saskatchewan and Alberta are the last provinces I believe to not implement another round of lockdowns. I know Saskatchewan had received a ton of extra funding for healthcare and “pandemic pay” for workers in essential services, and hasn’t paid out a CENT of it.

The government is reallocating other healthcare workers to do pandemic work rather than hiring more people, leaving shortages for support workers to do surgeries, speech pathology, amongst many other disciplines for individuals to get left in the dust.

The province then starts claiming their healthcare system can’t support the requirements of the population, and starts talking about privatizing and subsidizing more and more services (likely by companies these individuals have ownership stakes in). The governments can twist this shit however they want, even when there are people who are genuinely trying to sort this shit out in a more logical way.

I have plenty of criticisms of my province as it stands, seeing how some things like basic lab work and medical imaging should be available to anyone if they can pay out of pocket when a physician can’t justify the government paying for it, but that is another issue in and of itself.

Stay safe, that is a shit situation to be in. I also know plenty of people’s insurance aren’t accepting anything Covid related now as far as travel goes. Hope the best for you.

Thanks dude I appreciate it. Not gunna lie I've never felt so trapped. It's fucked. Trapped in a small airbnb for the next several days. Then maybe try and go find things to do.

Just stocked up on vit d/c, evhinacea, and a shit ton of tylenol/advil.

Avoid getting this shit If you guys can. Only bright side is I may lose the weight I gained from 2 weeks of drinking while being here

Oh but half these idiots don't believe covid is a factor. And they think the vaccine is fake lol You're an idiot for even traveling outside Canada. No sympathy here

Flights were booked 6 months in advance. Not My fault Canada changed their re entry requirements after we'd already flown out. Ya I agree it was a risk to take. Doesn't change the fact that they're still collecting taxes from me whilst refusing to permit me access to my country of origin that I am a citizen of.

This is how you create people who want nothing but to see you fall. I was in support of this shit, took their vaccines, followed their crap and this is what they do in the end. Again, my choice to go on this trip that was already paid for. Their choice to abandon their citizens no offer of aid which Costs incurred or anything

If you’re a new Canadian you can come and you don’t even need identification!

Technically you’re allowed into Canada it’s just that the airlines can’t let you fly in. So if you can get the a land border you’re fine! Quick swim and a drive?

And now they’re finding out the tests were faulty and not reliable and can’t tel the difference between regular sickness and Covid. Imagine that! But they have to keep trying to make this the pandemic it never was so they can continue to assert dominance and keep people living in fear.
This is not accurate at all. The covid thest only tested for covid, not other upper respiratory/flu viruses. That would require a separate test. So that's why they're making a new test that's all in one. The covid test would not pop positive for the flu or other viruses, because it could not detect them.

They check you at the borders as well apparently. By land air or sea

Otherwise I'd fly to Seattle after symptoms cleared and drive home via rental

The only places I know you can get into without jabs is Mexico, Costa Rica and UAE (but I think they just changed this one) Slovenia and Croatia.

The problem is leaving the country your in to get onto an airline

I'm not one to judge I'm vaccinated and I wasn't going to but I have kids and family to think of. 2 weeks ago got tested unwillingly as the borders here in PEI pretty much force you to or you have to self isolate for 8 days if you don't. I had enough of this bullshit and I let them know. Refused to be tested and of course the cops came. Why get vaccinated if you have to get tested when you leave and comeback, if that wasn't enough over the holidays if family came they had to isolate for 4 days so no kids again this year.
After I took the fuckin test it came back positive and let me tell you I was sick like I've never been before felt like I was dying, it lasted for 4 days.my sister got it to with pretty much no symptoms
Basically it doesn't matter if your vaxed or not if your going to get it you will.
The states got it right, I was watching football this weekend stadiums full to capacity. Pretty much scratch your head and think WTF! That's our government going overboard with this shit
I have a couple of friends living in PEI, so I know their borders have been tougher than Ontario throughout this whole ordeal.

Glad you're feeling better.. the virus is harder on some than it is on others and I believe we are all going to catch this at some point, so maybe it's time to let it run it's course so we can move on.

I believe we have all had enough of this shit..

No you can definitely enter the country by land, but you’ll be subject to another test. So basically they might PCR you at the border and ask for your quarantine plan, you go home and then the next day you get a call saying you’re positive for COVID and have to quarantine for however long it is now. You’ll probably want to lie and say you haven’t already tested positive though and that’s going to be its own can of worms

Oh I'd absolutely lie. Thing is this is what I've found so this is why I'm skeptical about driving across.

Not to contradict you dude, but you're certain of that? Because that could be my saving grace

To tell you the truth they may try to make you eat that fine because they’ll know something is up, but by law they cannot deny entry to a Canadian citizen. There has never been any exception to that rule. Here’s a tidbit:

“Arrival tests and possible quarantine while you await results
As a fully vaccinated traveller, you can travel to your place of quarantine, including on connecting flights, without waiting for your arrival test results (if selected for testing), unless it is determined at the border that you do not have a suitable quarantine plan”

But yeah, it’s not some obscure interpretation of the law, not some 6th grader’s opinion or our constitution. You cannot be denied entry into Canada as a Canadian citizen. That being said they will probably be up your ass with those fines and “rule breaking” about not having the negative test in advance. The government has just made a lot of ridiculous loops to be jumped through in advance, but you cannot be denied entry at the border.

Ya unfortunately 5gs is a bit too much to pay if my cost of staying here was a bit more I honestly might just eat the fines.

Tell me, what do you make of the portion in brackets?
