What’s the longest you have kept a car that you bought brand new?

1999 F-150 4x4 single cab.

I bought it new and it only has 70,000 miles on it. It's white so the paint still looks good. I rode my mountain bike and cyclocross bike to work all year round in the heat, cold, rain, snow and ice and kept my truck in the garage.

Has some rust on the undercarriage and I've done most of the repair work myself.

I will not buy a new vehicle, the prices these days are obscene for what you get and I don't need all that electronic bullshit.

If you want to retire early, a fancy vehicle is the fastest way to life long poverty. Get a bicycle or moped and ride and tell the world to fuck off because you're gonna retire early while they're continue on in slavery.

Also I pay $78 in vehicle taxes every year as well.

Always hold onto everything you own as long as you can if you actually need it.

Resist buying anything for as long as you can, figure out ways to avoid having to buy stuff.

It's all about self control and if you master it you'll break free, if you don't you'll end up fucked like most people and make no mistake this country is designed to entice and trap the masses.

I have a 2008 car and it works well and suits me completely. For a car, it's just a means of transportation. I see no reason for myself to spend money on a new car. In addition, cars used to be more reliable than they are now.

Unfortunately they don’t make vehicles like they used to. The prices are insane on new vehicles, and every year the manufacturers intentionally make them harder to work on unless you are an authorized dealer. Similar to what John Deere has already done.

'19 Camaro SS. This will only leave if I go broke or somethinng.

I got an f150 that'll be gone before the warranty expires lol

The older stuff allows you to repair and do your own work, that's why I'm a vintage guy.

I prefer everything years older. Even electronics I use older laptops that I can get NOS with no operating system.

Take washing machines for instance. A new one is $1000 and might last 5 years and you have to pay $200 for the warranty. The old Maytags that were built in America with the occasional pump replacement would run for 40+ years.
