Is it better to walk on high incline or with more speed?

I want to burn fat faster and also want to build up my leg muscles and stamina. From what ive googled some places say its all about incline and others say its all about speed. How do you guys train? Which do you prioritize?
If you cant tell im a complete novice so sorry if this seems like a dumb baby beginner question.
I appreciate any advice thrown my way.

My general rule for my own cardio if I'm trying to burn cals is HR above 140, aside from that Incline will get you more bang for your buck as far as calorie burn goes. It could be hard to hit 140 HR on a treadmill though, I typically use a stairmaster

Fastest I usually walk is 2.8 mph with an incline. The key is to let your arms swing, don’t hold the handles and you’ll find 2.8 mph for 30-40 min will kick your ass
This. I always see guys with the treadmill on full incline thinking they are badass but they are holing onto the screen and basically pulling themselves up. Useless. If they let go they would be on the floor in 3-5min.

You want the fat burn option, not the cardio option… at least as far as I’ve been told by trainers. Cardio is said to “burn up” muscle whereas fat burn is what targets the fat. I’ve actually found that to be true. Fat burn treadmill after weight training was phenomenal for me.

Agreed with these guys, when you hold on and lean back, you completely take the incline portion out of it as far as your legs are concerned, which completely defeats the purpose of having the treadmill inclined

You should understand in a little more detail what you are doing.

1.Everything about fat burning is done at the expense of calorie deficit, if we are not talking about drugs that enhance lipolysis.

2. All that concerns the increase in leg muscles (and any other muscles) is, on the contrary, a surplus of calories.

Cardio training is primarily an improvement in the functioning of the cardiovascular system, an increase in mitochondria in the muscles and many other concomitant effects. Cardio as an assistant in fat burning will work only with a deficit of calories consumed.

Those calories seem a bit low... make sure your protein is kept high to minimize muscle loss.

You should be in a good deficit at that level. Are you losing weight?

Probably way too low, it takes 1200 cals a day to even be considered a balanced diet, I start most chicks off at abt 1800-2,000 a day

I just saw 3, today. Two were bodybuilding bros, having to do the typical cardio after weights thing. I lol'ed today because I remember reading this post yesterday.

It sounds low but it really depends on your TDEE, although even if you were sedentary I’d still bet it’s low. What’s your body composition like? If you’re trying to drop 38 lbs, I’d imagine you have quite a bit of fat to lose.
