Obsessed or just committed?

Question.
So I’ve been training for a few years now but recently started taking it seriously and finally making the progress I’ve always wanted. I’ve left relationships over fights for being in the gym all the time and eating clean and not wanting to go out etc. Get told it’s stupid and I’m obsessed all the time. It’s my buddies birthday weeknd and the guys have planned a guys trip to Miami. My question is I have this over whelming anxiety over how fucked my diets gonna be for 2-3days hard core drinking (Tito’s soda keeping it clean as possible) and out to eat all day (will go for the cleanest meals possible). Currently leaning out but planning on starting a cycle to grow but with minimal fat. How long would 3 days of good amount of Tito’s and 4-5 meals set me back. And I’m Wrong for stressing over this? Goal is to compete in my first show sometime mid next year but I really wanna be competitive.

People at the top in every endeavor are obsessed with being the best and their entire life revolves around becoming more obsessed and better at what they do, to the exclusion of everything else.

If you really were committed you wouldn't be going anywhere.
Sounds like you're still a wishy washy 20 year-old.

1000% agree. That’s why it bothers me so much. Could give you all the excuses on how these are super close friends and haven’t seen them in a couple years because working so much etc but dosnt matter just wondering what others thoughts are on it.

If your goal is to compete and perhaps win titles then "obsessed" is exactly what you will need to be. Bodybuilding is a very lonely/boring lifestyle if you really want to take it seriously though so be aware of what you're getting into/sacrificing.

Also dont listen to the guys here, most of tthese guys here giving advice are looking below natty. And some are just fat.

If you have truly been eating clean for weeks/months on end this can actually help you. I often go many weeks if not months without breaking my diet or taking time off training but I've noticed when I do end up taking a few days if something important comes up I come back looking leaner and stronger as long as its not ice cream and cookies.

Also it is healthy to let the body recover for a few days.

I like this reply. I can truly appreciate the dedication required for something like this, but at a point, for ANYONE, it becomes counter productive.

3 days should kill your, or even derail you. I'm not saying eat like an asshole for 3 days straight, but 3 days a bit off plan could actually be beneficial, if you are as strict as you say you are.

You have to be purposeful, but sometimes you need to unload your head, it's very important not to burn out. Your life should be full and varied. And at the same time, I see no reason to worry. Try to just eat the way you did before. Prepare a certain amount of food in advance.

Once I traveled a lot and also faced this problem, but everything is solved if you provide for these moments in advance. Take a protein supplement with you, it has often helped me.

Exactly. Key words here are "if you are strict as you say you are" lol.

I had recently taken 2 days off for my grandmothers funeral (RIP) and ended up eating lots of pizza, fry chicken, burgers, and all types of BBQ. Only thing I brought with me was protein to make sure I was not getting too catabolic.

First day back in the gym I felt like I was on tren, new delt veins I had never seen before were creeping out and felt very full, strong, and most importantly recovered.

The month before that I had been eating nothing but tilapia, chicken, boiled eggs, sweet potatoes, and jasmine rice though.

Exactly. You've got to build in these super greasy cheat days. It wakes your body up.

I think you need to take a reality check here - If you were 5'10 and 230lb's of diced up muscle about to step on stage I could understand the stress of eating fast food for 3 days, BUT you are 5'10 and only 177lb's and to be honest look underweight and not what I call in great shape. Even I am only 5'8 and around 205 lean and am not big at all. Go and enjoy yourself ....

you can look lean at 205lbs? I thought you needed to be under 198lbs for bodybuilding or else your muscles wont have definition.

Bro life is for living. Go enjoy your life.

I got thrown out of the gym for 2 fucking years because of the pandemic and gym closures here. Your worried aboit a few days out of the gym and derailing your diet for a few meals? It aint no big deal. As i said, life is for living, so go live it.

Exactly, half the reason for training and running gear is to attract the bitches (or men Lol) so get out there and use the muscle to your advantage. A few days backwards isn't going to affect you in terms of diet - In fact several days break from the gym will have you actually returning to it even stronger.

You made some solid gains in a year bro, keep up the good work.

Don't get complacent and constantly set new goals for yourself. Stay hungry.

What is your cycle history?
So first pics I looked like shit (thought I was bulking and needed to eat everything) and decided to take it serious and leaned out on 500mg test e for 8weeks got lean. Then I wanted to start adding size so I did a 300 test p and 175 tren A ran tren for 4 weeks saw I was getting gyno so backed off and starting taking some novla. Trained hard and just ate clean for rest of the time. Recently hired a coach told him I wanna use gear to be competitive but didn’t know enough about it since I got gyno. He said had a lot of unnecessary fat so we started leaning out and getting rid of that top pics are a couple weeks old but that’s where I’m at now and should start gear protocol here soon
