Had my first polyp removed. GH?

Mid 30's, just had colonoscopy and we found a polyp. I've used GH, but not that much. Two short cycles of max 4iu, but average was probably around 3 iu. I do have a lot of skin moles, and new ones also seem to pop up every time I use GH. I've read once that there is a connection between the two? Anybody knows if there is any merit to this hypothesis or am I just predisposed to colon cancer and should avoid GH ...? My grandpa died of colon cancer, so there is that ...

Appreciate any input, tnx!

Listen, im not a doctor but i did stay at a holiday inn express last night.

If you have a family history of colon cancer then i think any half decent doctor will want to keep your backside monitored fairly frequently (like annually? But you ask the doc their recommendation)

As for GH causing it? I hope not, cause ive used a lot of GH over my years. The whole GH and cancer debate has been going on for years and i still dont know what the general concensus is from the medical community. Maybe @Type-IIx can chime in here as hes very well read on GH/IGF-1 and probably has opinions on potential carcinogenic effects.

For sure, he said regular check ups, he's just waiting for the histology review of my ass sample to come back.

I've read once that GH causes polyps to grow, if you are predisposed. Certainly my skin moles grow like crazy. As I've said, I get one or two new ones each time I run GH. I remember somebody writing about needing to do colonoscopies every year, bc of GH causing him lots of polyps to grow. I remember cringing at the fact he was doing them every year. Honestly, it wasn't that bad, but wouldn't want to go through it every year; my digestion is totally fucked atm, and I imagine it's going to take a while for the microbiome to restabilize ...

Is your diet high in fiber ?
I read its good for the colon and reduces risk of colon cancer by 20% .
Try eating oats daily if possible and add a carot to meals as much as you can .

Yeah, it is ... Also eating oats regularly. I love that chit ... Mix it with coconut "flower", ground up almonds, chia seeds, soak it in hot water and then add casein protein ...

There's a U-shaped curve in certain populations (we probably don't know them all, but one is for example, elderly men) and IGF-I levels vs. risk for certain neoplasms (e.g., colon cancers) such that risk is elevated at the low & high levels of IGF-I.

Certainly, you could be an at-risk individual for melanoma & polyps with elevated IGF-I (beyond normal for your age group).

So there's definitely this attenuated link between rhGH and these sorts of neoplasms (adenomas) and hyperplastic (non-neoplastic) growths.

Glad that you caught them early.

You have probably read a lot of the stuff l have on GH and IGF-1 levels. There seems to be a belief that higher than normal levels will more than likely increase the rate of growth of existing growths, but l have not found a lot of information of this causing the growths in the first place. Because of your family history the smart move would be to not use hgh or peptides that take your lgf levels above normal.
With digestion that's such a controversial and individual thing, all the dieticians and medical field say eat high fibre, low fat, so many serves of fruit and vegies a day eat plenty of whole grain carbs and so on. For me l use to eat like this, never touched sugar or processed food, would take probiotics eat yogurt all the healthy stuff. Even doing all this through early to mid 40's my digestion was totally fucked. l had daily gut pain, heartburn, my gut felt like it was at war everyday. l think even in these so called healthy ways of eating there will be certain foods that are causing your digestion problems. l know for me l could'nt be bothered trying to work out the problem foods so l tried the most restrictive elimination diet there is, the carnivore diet. With in 6 weeks of adapting to the diet l had zero gut problems. That's with no probiotics, no fibre, no carbs. just lots of protein and fat. l have been eating like this for more than 6 years never even had an upset tummy or been sick with even a common cold once in those 6 years. There will definitely be some problem foods, no matter how healthy you think your eating that will be causing your digestion problems.

Gluten and dairy are the main ones for most people .
If that don't work it gets tricky to find the problem foods.
Are you 100% carnivore or do you eat other foods from time to time?

l will have a meal off the diet 3 or 4 times a year for special occasions like kids birthday or christmas day. Other than that 100% carnivore, my health and blood pressure is better at 54 than it was at 34.

Not uncommon, doesn’t mean they’re cancerous, I had 2 removed when I was 35 years old and had my first colonoscopy due to internal hemorrhoids (a whole other story)

Well, last cycle was 2 - 2.5iu's, that certainly doesn't put me above the 250 igf1 ref range, but I still got a couple of new skin molds ... So idk if the ref range is something to really abide by. Probably lower, not preceding 200 or even 150, honestly ...

Yeah, the keto diet does a great deal, especially to neurobiology, glutamine glutamate gaba pathway, neuroinflammation and also alleviates any brain glucose hypometabolism issues. In fact, keto has been the go to treatment, before medicine was created, to treat epilepsy. Off course it helps with dementia, AD's, ... As far as gut health, if you have trouble processing carbs and if fats aren't an issue (gallbladder) it does help, off course, because you've removed an irritant that was causing an inflammatory response. I have ibs, and have trouble handling carbs so I can attest to keto helping a lot, also with cognition. But, I only tried it once for 3 weeks time ...

Carnivore is a bit hardcore, but for sure, it's the ultimate elimination diet. You can't be allergic to meat ... So kudos to you for sticking to it, I can't imagine eating as much as I need on carnivore. How much fat do you eat btw?

Yeah, I know, it probably wasn't. I'm waiting for the histology report now, but am not to worried. But even so, the problem with polyps is, that they Can turn cancerous if not found early enough. So this means regular colonoscopy checkups, especially if using GH.

How often would you guys do colonoscopies if you were using GH and were susceptible to polyps? Off course, talking about small dosages: 1.5 - 3iu's ...

Tnx. So there is a reason to do hrt with GH if igf falls to low huh Need to look up the literature on this a bit more!

TRT and certainly "TRT+" will elevate your IGF-I (the latter commonly into the supraphysiologic) - and rhGH may not be necessary (and for you, perhaps too risky). This is because Testosterone ↑GH and IGF-I via augmented GH secretory burst mass.

l didn't have IBS, but for 2-3 years l had daily gut pain and heartburn to a point where l had anxiety and mild depression and was put on an anti-depressant for it. l removed dairy and gluten after about 6 months of having gut issues and tried removing certain foods which didn't help, then tried paleo for a while and then keto for a while but still couldn't resolve the problem. That's when l decided to give Carnivore a go. The first 3-4 weeks were like the worst detox you can imagine, l seriously felt like death warmed up. l would feel sick just looking at the meat l was about to eat. l nearly bailed on the diet several times in the first month, lucky for me l didn't. By about the 6 week mark my gut pain and heartburn l had daily for 2-3 years was totally gone, by 8 weeks l had no anxiety what so ever and stopped my anti depressants. As l said in an earlier post l have had zero issues with my gut or health in more than 6 years, At the moment my wife and 3 kids have all been sick with the flu for nearly 2 weeks and are all still coughing there guts out, l haven't even got a sniffle. It is definitely a hardcore diet at the start but l actually enjoy the simplicity of it now and l think its probably the best way anyone with IBS could eat.

As for fat l eat beef steaks and mince that are about 20% fat and try to get grass fed where possible. l also eat a little bit of liver, kidney, heart and free range eggs. l also once a week cook up a pot of beef bones for 24-36 hours and drink the broth daily. ln total l would consume 300-400 grams of fat a day depending on what l am trying to achieve with my training. l do have a seriously fast metabolism though and there are guys 20kg bigger than me that eat less than me on Carnivore. The only thing l would suggest if you ever considered trying carnivore is buy a high strength fat digesting enzyme supplement to take while getting used to diet. That with magnesium and potassium and making sure you drink lots of water would negate a lot of the early side effects l got. Hope this helps you.

It sounds like you might have had some sort of ibs though caused by low stomach acid (heartburn is low stomach acid). Maybe even h. Pylori ... The initial reaction though, sure soes sound like herxheimer, so maybe you did have some gut infection like sibo or something, idk.

Otherwise the 300 - 400g's of fat ... that's keto, isn't it? Or is this normal for carnivore, to basically just eat animal fats whereas keto you can eat all fat? Never delved much into keto. My gut is quite irritated, confirmed by the colonoscopy doc, and I will have to do something about it, so I am preparing my self for low fodmap and then transition to keto and will do some fasting days. And I'll probably try mesalazine or something else ...

Antidepressants is actually what caused my ibs, specifically vortioxetine followed by a cycle that had some orals in it. I also have gilberts, so my liver is not the best.

Anyway, kudos for sticking to carnivore. You probably could slowly switch to eating carbs again as your gut issues are now fixed.

Oh, wanted to add, for digestion of fats you need bile not enzymes. So supplementing with TUDCA or taking bile salts is what you need. Bile also helps with meat digestion, but it's primary role is fat.

And the not being sick ever is actually bad. You need to get sick time to time, if you don't, that means your inflammation levels are high all the time, being in a sort of a stress response. So to my knowledge, this is not a good thing per se.

With the enzymes l was meaning just Lipase, but you are right about TUDCA its great for fat digestion and protein as well as lowering LDL and fatty liver. l just never needed it once l got adapted to the diet. l do have it on hand in case l decided to use any gear. With inflammation levels, when l get bloods done l always get C Reactive protein [hsCRP] done and inflammation is always 0.2 mg/L which is really low.
As for what you said in your previous post, your right l could eat some carbs if l wanted to but l just don't crave carbs any more and actually enjoy eating carnivore. When it comes to weight training l actually think carnivore is a way better way of eating than keto, as keto to me is to high in fat, to low in protein and not enough carb to do anything, as well as there can still be problem foods in the diet. That's just my opinion.
As for fat l eat a minimum of 1.5 kg of meat a day which equals a minimum of 300 grams of fat a day and l always get a minimum 400+ grams of protein a day which is pretty normal for carnivore.
Also l have a mate that eats carnivore is 95kg about 10% body fat and eats less than me even though he is 15+ kg heavier than me.

l did forget to mention l had a colonoscopy before l started carnivore because of my constant heartburn and was told l had an irritated gut as well. l got another one done 2 years after starting carnivore and doc said gut was perfect.
