The obsession with being shredded/vascular/dieting ???

I stay lean year round for the same reason that I only put exactly enough gas into my car to fill it up rather than pumping gallons of excess out all of the fucking ground. It's a total waste of money and time to be fat. It just seems like simple logic to me. Food is more expensive now than I can ever remember it being and still you see these lumbering fat slobs all of the place. Why would I waste my money buying food I don't need and then waste time I could spend doing something else preparing and then eating that food. Bodybuilding alone already causes me to eat more than the average person I certainly don't want to make it worse by being fat. (BTW Fat to me is anything over 12-15% bodyfat)

Oh I understand all the excuses they make and the horrible mental gymnastics they play but there is only one objective reality. Food is a fuel source and nothing more. If a person connects emotion or pleasure with fueling their body then they are addicted to food and they and their eating should be viewed the same as any other addict/addiction. A parent who feeds their child food to the point of obesity should be charged with child abuse and no one who is obese should qualify for any type of government food assistance so long as they are overweight. Obesity is a far greater problem than this bullshit pandemic could ever imagine being.
 
I just like to have abs and I know if they dissappear unless I'm also training for strongman or powerlifting that's also just unnecessary fat.
10 to 16% is healthy even low as 8% for some. I like the 10 to 12 range and dip to 8% maybe a bit less once a year maybe 2x and that only last a few weeks at best.
I think if you have abs or can why not? There are two sides to it in my head and it's about balance.

But no need to give myself an excuse for not having abs by saying "I'm living normal" normal is subjective and if someone loves having a gut then ok. But I see it as a waste just as much as being stupid low in body fat.

In general, I agree with you, for me food is not a cult, but fuel. I get pleasure and emotions from other sources. About parents who feed their children to obesity, I agree that such people should be punished. Or at least teach and work with them.

Very good and true words. Obesity is the trouble of our time, as is the cult of silicone boobs and abs on boys.
You have to live your life and do what you love.

Hey whats wrong with us scrawny cunts having abs? Na only joking, l actually agree with you. When l was 60 kg with abs in my mid 40's l hated the way l looked, so l ate big, worked out hard with NO GEAR and put over 20 kg on, still had abs and was much happier with the way l looked, that was until l completely fucked my shoulder 8 months ago.
 
this is my exact body composition without paying much attention to diet but still training hard. that being said, i've been fatter than this and also leaner than this, and i prefer leaner simply because i feel most confident that way. even in the winter time with a big jacket on, it makes me feel good knowing i'm ripped underneath and when i feel good i get good results.

i also get satisfaction out of the process of leaning out. when i was way younger i used to cut my calories a ridiculous amount and deprive myself of a normal life. i'm still young, but now that i'm older i refuse to get below 2500-2600 calories when trying to lean out. i would rather just do more cardio.

We have all gone through strict diets and restrictions. But over time, I learned and I understand that it is not right to do this. Success is a well-planned diet.
 
Don't get your knickers in a twist when you've read this post coz it's not trying to have a pop at anyone's choices but things are very different these days in bodybuilding/weight lifting/training/fitness etc so I'm just opening up a discussion (if you wanna get involved).

Unless you earn a living from modelling or competing in a sport why the fuck are you so focused with being ultra lean all year round and denying yourself the pleasures of living a normal life and eating a normal healthy diet?
Do you do it coz you like looking in the mirror everyday and worshipping yourself? Or do you do it to impress the girls/men in summer or when you ocassionally get a new sex hook up? Do you do it coz you spend a lot of your life naked/semi-clothed and being cut gives you confidence that you're beautiful and better than other people? Or do you do it for other reasons not listed here?

This is a genuine post BTW with genuine interest into the mindset of guys and girls that diet all the time and eat in really odd and unhealthy ways just to look good (lean) on the outside.
What are you advocating, people permabulk and stay in the 14-15% range year round so...they can eat more? I love to eat, but part of looking good is not eating shit and having muffin top. Plus having a low body fat is healthier and you can have muscle but not be so huge your killing yourself slowly.

I've always stayed at the 20% range, grew up a fat slob over 30% most of my young life, was always into powerlifting, still am, but now is the first time I'm trying to get below 15%, I'm down 26lbs to 250-254, I'm a natural endomorph, I can put weight on super easy

One thing I've noticed is I feel amazing dropping the fat, blood pressures down, which is a huge part of feeling good, I jave always been athletic even at 280 I could do large box jumps, skip do bjj etc...but.now I want to look like I can do all those things as well, I'll never be lean year round and I get that but if I can keep 16% I will take it

Understandable. I have a big appetite and can gain weight easily, love to eat. Grown men eat. The best thing I do to try and lose weight is be a volume eater. Low calorie food that takes up alot of space. Chicken breast, lean g round beef, pound green veggies, egg whites 8 oz mushrooms in the omelette with pickle slices, shit that fills your stomach but is low calorie. So your eating alot, but the calories are low. Apples too fill me up. Sauerkraut with meat or with some has browns (just sliced potatoes from Aldis not the fat laces stuff). Veggies, turkey, sauerkraut all bland but get some low calorie bbq or chili sauce (10 calories per 2tbsp) and it it on that stuff, salt, pepper, you actually look forward to it. At your BF maybe go lower carbs id assume you may have higher fasting blood glucose and some insulin insesnity issues? Intermittent fasting.

I do very similar cottage cheese with piri piri or hot sauce and eat it with celery sticks

Breakfast is always egg whites with 2 whole free range eggs and some shredded cheese with a greens drink

Than I fill the rest with protein shakes mixed with coconut milk unsweetened

I know it's not the absolute best but for cutting its been working 3 solid meals with 3 shakes

Ends up 2800-3000 calories

Fasted am cardio after my hgh minimum 20 minutes but I try to go for 1 hour a day split between morning and night

I eat 3k as well

For me its go to work, then eat meal 1 after

200mg egg whites with pickles and mushrooms made into a huge omelette. Then some hash browns (sliced potatoes no fat) mixed with 1.5 cup of sauerkraut and some very low calorie ketchup. Then 2 apples

total 800-900 calories


thats usually 800 calories, relax bit hit the gym by 6.

Get in a nice long intense workout and cardio if needed, then hell its 8:30

Then comes post workout...10 oz turkey cooked with 150g spring mix and some low calorie sauce,,then a bunch of apples or the hash browns meal again, maybe a few tomatos

That usually has me at 1600 and its almost 10

So the days almost over now I got 1400 more calories I can eat in a few hours, so I don't even feel like im dieting,

Light and fit greek yogurt mixed with rice cakes,,,egg white wraps,,,96 percent lean beef......cottage cheese mixed with almond milk (8oz) and 1.5 scoop of casein,,rice cakes crumbled on or maybe strawberries on top,,,mix and match some good food for the rest of the day

But protein is always about 350 and calories are no more than 3000

They key for me don't start eating until 4 lol. An energy drink in the am on the way to work (or coffee), and another before the gym, maybe nicotine gum during the day, im at work so not really hungry.
