Got bad news, what to do

I hope he can fix this. By no means am I saying you should get off totally free of any punitive charges (and I know you aren’t, I’m just trying to add clarity to my post), BUT to have the court fuck you over and change the agreement is not at all ok.
I am willing to do whatever it takes. And probation, community service. I agree, it is a shock to me. So tired of being stuck in this spot. Not being able to move forward, i was working so hard to move on with my life.

I hope too

I remember hearing on a podcast one time that recovering addicts are usually some of the best, most dedicated workers, and that has something to do with taking the addictive behavior and pouring it into their job instead of into a substance.

I think it was JRE, but I can’t remember who the guest was that was talking about it, but I believe he was a world renowned behavioral psychologist that specialized in addiction recovery.

EDIT: btw, that whole post was spot on, not just the part I quoted
It's only logical.

Sitting in a jail cell all day long with pent up energy is gonna backfire. I think it might even drive a person to worse addiction as they find themselves in a position of powerlessness. All humans have to have the ability to exercise some form of power over themselves, some way to accomplish something or they'll go mad and that can be anything, building something, hunting a deer, learning a new skill. You can't take the human mind, put it in neutral and let it sit on a shelf getting dusty.

You can't trust a lawyer.

I used to be called in as a witness as I would end up collecting drug and alcohol samples for the police when I worked night shift lab. I can assure you the defense, prosecution, and judge are all backslapping good friends. It's all routine and mindless, they're just doing their job bending you over and shoving the 12" up your hooter.

There job is to be as imposing and terrifying as possible, make it so you wouldn't fight back, that's how our entire police state is set up. Endless laws to make sure you never question your master.

Our government and our masters in all forms, have always viewed those that question with horror and fear, they fear more than anything else the day you question their right to rule.
Appreciate the comments. You make very valid points.

Damn, this is fucked up...

I would do anything just not to go inside, fuck this.

Is that prison thing real? or is it just movies?

And then would that backfire? Would they say, well you are wasting our time, you didnt take that sentence? Well do more then? That is scary to think about.
Of course you're wasting their time. Isn't their time so valuable, after all they're the state, your master, your boss with their gun to your head.

There job is to terrify you, present you with a nightmare scenario.

They're sadistic, lets just call them what they are, evil fucks. They might not know they're evil because they're making a very good living and are immersed in that environment, so they have never had the chance to stand back to look at what they are doing to wreck lives.

If it were up to me I'd come up with something creative because you can't just go into a jail cell for 4 months without at least asking the court for other options to keep you out.

We can't just passively resign ourselves to the gulag, you gotta do anything possible to make it clear that you'll never DWI again and if so you'll go into prison for however long they suggest without a fight. Then you want to pack your ass up and gtfo of that state, move to Oregon the most progressive of our states.

Very true indeed. Really working to do so. They just made the dwi laws harder in july 2022. Yet, i never met anyone who went in for 2. They got a million other punishments. But those are fine, as long as you stay sober. At least you have your home and family.

I have a person in the AA program whos a judge, will see and talk to them later.

The judge is looking at this as a repeat offender case. They are supposed to show that they spanked your fanny, so if you do end up harming someone in a DWI in the future it won't go back on the Judges record.

It's all about saving face and making sure they cover their ass, it's not about helping you at all, they don't give a shit about you and that's why you should do everything in your power creatively to come up with a solution to make it full proof to the court that you won't DWI again.

If it takes giving up your vehicle and riding a bicycle then do it, nothing wrong with being a free man and riding a bike or under 50cc moped.

AA and institutionalized bullshit programs aren't gonna cut it. You're gonna have to present yourself as a man that has woken up and doesn't want to lose his freedom. You're probably gonna have to kiss their ass and grovel, but you're also gonna have to come up with a plan that shows them that you'll never get into this trouble again.

Once you go into jail/prison it marks you for life, you're not a rich man that can do whatever he wants, you're like most of us that live in the system, and if you're placed on the digital plantation you will never escape. You'll always be the man that went to jail for 4 months.

Ok so going to fight it. Take it to the next place. He said he can find out if they will make it worse if i do this. And do some more work on what to do. But will be fighting this. Which if anything makes me able to get more work now. Save money, get my hormones and a plan to get the pellets. And find a way to manuever around as needed. Luckily my family is by my side. As i am just trying to live a life worth living. And being apart of the community in a healthy manner. And yes i will be finding a better job now. Without this on my record. And all that kind of stuff.

I will just do a ton of workouts, burpees galore lol. 100’s. Ill get creative:

But yes i will just except i will lose strength and mass. Because i can get it back when done
Exactly buddy there are loads of Bodyweight exercises you can learn to master - Shoulder presses against the wall, squats with people on your back, sit ups, tricep dips etc. I'd learn how to walk on my hands and do handstands!! Something I've always wanted to be able to do lol

I switched jail time for community service on my last DUI. I'm in California though so things are a bit different. That was over 10 years ago though.
Thats what we are trying to do. They got super strict now. Litterally new laws this month. I dont get, i am really not a threat to anyone. I mind my own business, and help people when i can. The only issue is substance abuse and addiction. Which is tourture. It ruins everything. I believe its genetic, or there is something that fuels it. But i am sober now.

I wont have a license for at least 2 years though now, which holds me back, or i thought. Not going to let it, going to progress no matter what occurs. Staying sober number one.

Charles Bronson's solitary fitness is a great book, goes through all the exercises he does in his cell with only bodyweight, major presses and burpees, also narrated by himself so a fun read.

Yes handstand pushups, courtesy lounges, one leg pistol squat, pullups, milliions pushups, burpees get heart rate up, it will do, and i can workout alot if needed. But will see

I narrowly avoided getting Jail for Drink Driving and Dangerous driving/failing to stop for police over here! Only as it was my first major offence they handed down hundreds of hours community service to me instead of serving time. Had to do a 4 month drink driving rehab course too. One thing for sure is I never did it again though - it got me to evaluate my life and quit the drink also. Couldn't drive for 2 years either and had to retake my driving test all over again - not being able to drive was the worst possible punishment to me of all of them.

Wow, well i can say i need to really work on things, because my old way of living is not working. Andni would take community service any day over that. I could at least workout and get to my goals. Where inside is total life pause, but making it as best i can, reading etc. i would do anything else beside that, my life has already had so many pauses. And i am leaning on the people around me alot, i would like to give back to them one day as they have helped me so.

You going to jail? Boot camp? Don’t leave us hanging here
4 months is a while. You can try and find a way to load up, but truth is you'll probably lose strength and mass regardless.

Are you going into some sort of rehabilitation center?
Unfortunately op can expect to crash. Last time I had swat surrounding my house I injected 1000mg of test e before walking out with hads up. I can't say it helped much long term.

Sounds like a plan. You may only lose 20 -30 lbs. I was cut up like a mf.

It's not really a fight situation.

I'm not sure making yourself look like the model citizen will do any good either, more like you won't be driving a vehicle and you tell the judge that you will be riding a bicycle and walking everywhere you go.

Your threat to society came from your DUI. Of course elderly, those on phones, on sedating medications are also a risk to the public, but they don't have the moral shame of someone who is drunk.

Shame and Guilt as Moral Conduct and the Judge as high priest that passes your ass over the flames to purify your sins. No one can tell me law and religion aren't the same exact thing, no difference at all. So we do in fact live in a theocracy.

That said we have to function within this fucked up system. I would hope that you can look for solutions beyond your current legal counsel if they are so lazy as to allow you to be put in a cage like a dog at the kennel. That's not a solution to anything.

Public transport, free uber, those are solutions to problems of those that drive drunk.
